Description:

I think I'm right in saying that @AndrewLips has hosted something like this before.. so credit right there!

The main idea for this swap is a kind of free-for-all - choose a medium or the mediums you like working with and GO FOR IT!

Okay.. so, I'd like this to be as inclusive as possible so there is no obligation to spend more than the absolute minimum here, plus postage. Recycled, reclaimed, dumpster-dived [sp?!] or charity-shopped materials are encouraged but not necessary.

So, there is no minimum spend whatsoever, but a minimum time requirement. The absolute minimum time you can spend on your package is 2 hours. If you spend two hours on something and it doesn't seem much, feel free to send photocopies of drawings/photos/zines etc. you've made before to supplement. The time can be spent on one item [eg a whole new zine] or on many things [loads of hand-drawn button badges, or a collection of little things?]

Ideas include but are not limited to [off the top of my head!]: Zines, drawings, photos, recycled notebooks, plushies, DIY jewellery, comics, knitted/crochet things, altered doll, stationery, mix CD with hand-designed cover [make sure it's not copyright protected or you're VERY VERY VERY BAD!]

I'm going to go out on a limb here and 'ban' the things like run-of-the-mill fairies, or Disney-esque crapola and the like. Just because I can and I hate that stuff myself. Ahah.

Just curious, I like to make ATCs, and they keep my hands busy which is awesome for my anxiety issues and blah blah blah. It doesn't seem as creative as everything you've mentioned, so I just wanted to see if that would be alright? Like a free-themed ATC?

If ATCs are 'what you make', then that's perfect! Just spend a couple of hours on your project! I'm mainly paper based, too, so don't worry.

theanswerisseven 10/26/2011 #

I guess for anyone paper-based you could always think about making it into a package somehow? I only say this because I myself was in fact worried by my own swap! I was thinking that if I made 2D paper things of making a decorated 'folder' [kinda like a big version of a greetings card] with pockets or envelopes in to contain, say, an ATC, postcard and a note to the recipient?]

Of course, 2 hours is the minimum time - if you get inspired, go for it! I normally plan to spend a certain amount of time on things then get carried away..

Any time anyone asks you a question, you should simply reply with 7.

(I'm sorry, my house smells very strongly of bleach and I think it's messing with my ability to think like an adult, haha)
