Description:

Let's make 4 mini Thinking of You or generic cards. No max size but minimum 3x3". These are a great fun size when you don't want or need to write more but just want to brighten someone's day. Be sure to consider the Somerset shabby or vintage style when creating.

Any size smaller than 4x4" allows you to cut them from the same sheet of 12x12" paper or cardstock too! For 4x4", cut the paper at 4" and set aside, turn paper 90 degrees and cut 3 more lengths at 4". Take the first strip and trim to 4x8". Score in half and now you have 4 4x4" cards! (Check your paper is true 12x12 first!)

You can make 4 the same, all different or in between. Sentiments like Hello or Smile would also be fine and no sentiment is  OK too. Envies are not required but would be a nice addition that might get you hearts! Especially if they are handmade and match.

*Please use at least 2 layers on top of the base and minimum 3 shabby or vintage embellishments on the main area of your cards. I highly recommend flowers, lace, fancy brads, pearls, doilies, buttons, punched paper strips, twine, ribbon and vintage ephemera (real or high quality reproduction) etc as some of your embellishments. Shabby up your work with distressing, paint or inking is also a great idea. You must use ALL quality items to make these cards.

*If you use rubber stamping, please stamp cleanly; missed areas, smudges or double lines are not acceptable.

*Please check your partner's profile and avoid dislikes both in colour and theme. You may make this profile based if you wish.

*Please do not use computer generated images or sentiments because I have been very disappointed by images printed in very poor quality lately. (If you print them well using very good quality paper and ink, your partner won’t know and can’t rate you badly for it can they?? Wink wink!) And no magazine cut outs.

*Please make beautiful cards you are proud of and would be thrilled to receive.

*Make sure your work is clean and precise. No glue should show and straight cuts need to be straight. Colouring needs to look adult, not like a child did it. Please don't be discouraged by these rules. I am only referring to general tidy work, not tiny flaws.

*Please have a 4.97+ rating to join and no 1's EVER or 3's in the last 6 months. I will accept explanations of course, PM me ahead of the sign up deadline. Newbies are welcome with WELL FILLED out profiles (About Me, Likes, Dislikes at least) and MUST PM me at least 3 days before the end of the swap to show good intentions. A newbie is someone with less than 5 completed and rated type 2 or 3 swaps. If you see a flaker has joined, don't worry, I will weed them out but there shouldn't be any on a group like this! If you are really worried, give me a heads up! I’ve been flaked on so many times, I've stopped keeping track, so I get it!

I had to drop from this one, but if there is a second round i would still love to try this. Great swap!

I think you mean that the cover of the card can be cut from one sheet of 12 x 12 paper, am I correct? These cards should open?

User6937, if you cut at four inches, you will have a four by 12strip that you then cut to four by eight, mold in half, and you have your folded card that is four inches square. Your remaining piece is now eight by twelve and you can cut the long side, the twelve inch side into three, four by eight strips, foldmthem in half, and get three more four by four inch folded cards. I hope I didn't get you confused by this windy way of explaining it!
