Create a postcard no smaller than 4x6 inches.
Use sturdy card as a backing for your artwork.
Use paint, pens, markers, cut and paste or whatever you enjoy doing. If using glue make sure everything is well stuck, not all wrinkled and not likely to peel off. Please do not use all stickers and nothing else. A couple of stickers are OK as part of a collage.

Mail naked.

I am in Australia and because of timezone differences the last sign up day ends mid afternoon here. Most times if I'm home I will hit the assign partner button soon after that.

Can our own photos be used to create this?

sojourner 05/17/2012 #

Thank you for asking. In this case if it is one photo I would say no, only because most of the swappers attracted to these swaps are hands on art/crafty souls (not sure if that's an ideal description) who like to receive similar in return. If it was a non digital collage of photo pieces it would be OK.
I had been thinking of a "one picture handmade PC swap" ( I've taken part in one before) where you use one picture ...either a photo or a found image from a magazine or elsewhere with no alterations. I will set one up and see what interest there is.

What if it's a "chunky" postcard and would have trouble going through the mail system?

sojourner 05/19/2012 #

Chunky is not the best way to go with naked postcards as the postal machinery can make a nasty mess with them. If you mean thicker card cutouts glued on, some people cover the picture side with clear tape but that won't work with more lumpy/bumpy add ons. I will say that sometimes I have seen quite chunky cards make it through the mail but it is a risk. You can always ask your partner if they would be happy for a card to be sent in an envelope. I know that is not part of the swap requirements but a private agreement is always a possibility. Bear in mind that your partner may not want that as it is after all a naked swap.
