Description:

The alter above is of a Goddess Altar of this style to illustrate the style of Altar.

I am doing a Goddess version of this swap in the Goddess Reborn group and thought it would be fun to do one for the God here. I love to travel but I hate to leave my alter and don’t like caring a box of stuff so for many years I have carried a Icon style alter that is wrapped in a simple alter cloth. When I get to where I am going a simply find a flat surface put down the cloth then open the altar and go out and find local objects that hold meaning for me. This helps me to connect to where I am and continue to honor my connection to deity in a formal manner. Over the years I have made several of these altar s for different magical people of different paths and thought it would be fun to do it with my swap -bot friends.

So for this swap you will make 1 portable triptych altar for one member of our group dedicated to a God of their choosing. The altar is a triptych that stands on its own when viewed but is still able to be folded easily so it can travel. The altar can be no smaller than 6” high and 4” across when closed and no bigger than 10" high and 8" across when closed. The altar needs to be made out of a base material that is light and sturdy (wood panel, museum board, heavy mat board, plexi-glass, metal sheeting) but should not be breakable like potter’s clay or glass. The construction needs to be sturdy and standup to use. The panel can be decorated in any manner you wish (Drawing, painting, collage, wood burning, mosaic, plastic clay, stamped, mixed media). This is a partner driven swap. The center panel should be focused on a God of your Partner’s choosing. The whole altar piece should be covered in some manner but the outside does not have to as fancy or focused as the inside panels. When finished wrap it up nicely for your partner or put it in a bag to make it even more special. Most important make something that honors the Divine, you and your partner and have fun with the creative process. Please put a note in or on the package with your user name and the name of the swap. Also don't forget to rate -it is such a nice way to say thank you for your partner’s mindfulness. If you are flaked on I will Angel and will look into having the flaker removed from the group if you contact me. Happy Swapping!
