I haven't seen one of these swaps on here for a few months so I think it's time for another one. First of all... this swap is not meant for the faint hearted. ;) When you sign up for this swap you commit to put your heart and many craft supplies into this project. So here's the scoop. You will be assigned a partner. You are to make them a Smashbook/Junk Journal that has plenty of blank spaces for writing/gluing/drawing.... whatever their heart desires. BUT (here's a big but) all blank pages should not 'literally' be a blank white page. Blank pages mean (undecorated patterned or solid colored page... but it is nice to add something like a pocket, a small image/stamps, a quote). This swap is for a Smashbook sized 6 by 8 inches (12.7cm by 17.78 cm). Direction can go vertical or horizontal. It needs to have at least 60 pages (that is to say 30 pieces of paper) plus include smaller sized pages/pockets/tags. Let's make the book fat and fun! throw in extra items like the tags and stuff.... and Don't forget to make the cover. It should be made using material that is AT LEAST AS STURDY as cereal boxes. Go ahead and use your cereal boxes! Covers should be decorated. You can use spiral/wire binding. If you you don't have a machine you can use binder rings, but at least 2 please, so it keeps a form of a journal, not flashcards. (borrowed from Orangemama) Please create pages that your recipient will be able to write on (i.e. no candy wrappers, chip bags and other junk), please don't 'junky' junk in it. There is a fine line between a junk journal and a 'junky' journal that looks trashy and feels yucky. Please err on the side of quality ephemera and papers rather than junk. You can by all means use ephemera, found papers and so on, I just want to ensure it will be used and loved too. Once you sign up.... you can get to work creating your partner's journal.Once partners are assigned you are welcome to contact your partner, if you wish, or read their profile to know best how to make a journal they will love. This book should not be done rushed, with little attention put into it. Why don't you create some interactive or bulky pages (pockets with tags, hidden journaling, ribbons...) throw in a map, a page from a dictionary or book, an intersting photo or postcard... go to town!!! Final things- when you send your package out make sure and send it in a box or a bubble mailer. Make sure it can travel without getting banged up. Only open to US and Canada due to shipping costs. Sorry!! Must have at least a 4.8 rating with no recent 1 or 3's.
