Create one altered rolodex card for your partner using the embossed metal tape technique from Tim's 12 Tags of 2012 September. You can follow Tim's design or you can just use his metal tape technique as inspiration to create your own completely different theme. Feel free to substitute supplies/colors that you already have if you don't own the exact ones he uses. I used the foil tape you get at the hardware store in the ductwork aisle. I used #00 steel wool, also from the hardware store (but it also looks cool even if you don't have steel wool and just leave the original ink layer), and a credit card instead of the scraper. I actually own the Tonic piercing tool, but a push pin (with a piece of rigid foam under your project) works better because the tool kept retracting if I pushed too hard. My 2 cents on not running out and buying the piercing tool. Make it sturdy (at least card stock weight). Lightly decorate and sign your name on the back. This is for the 2.5" x 4" size rolo |
