RAK = Random Act of Kindness This swap is an experiment. It doesn't follow the normal guidelines of Swap-Bot swaps. You may or may not send to the person you are matched up with. Instead you'll send to someone who wants what you have. Most crafters end up stocking up on a little too much of some supply. For me, that has been beads and fibers. I know I have too many beads because when I go to find some beads to use for a project, it takes more time to sort through my beads than it does to complete the project! In this swap, you have the opportunity to get rid of some of those extras that get in your way. When you sign up, make a comment with the following information: 1. I have . . . (complete with a list of items you are willing to pass on to the other swappers). 2. I want . . . (complete with a few craft supplies you would like). On November 15th when Swap-Bot sends you an e-mail to let you know you have a partner for this swap, disregard the partner you've been matched up with. Instead, come here and see what other swappers are looking for. Choose 1 or more people to send to. E-mail me with the name(s) of the people you are going to send to and I will send you their snail mail addresses. I'll keep track of who is sending to who so that everyone ends up getting something. When you receive your item(s), please post here or e-mail me. I will also keep track of who does or doesn't follow through. I don't want people signing up for this thinking it's a great way to receive things without sending. If this goes well, I want to host one of these swaps each month or so. For this first time, the swap is limited to Canada, U.S., and Mexico. I think it'll be a big job keeping track of sends and receives locally. I'll add international folks next time if tracking is easier than I expect. I have created a group on Gather.com -- http://swappers.gather.com -- where I'll post a list of who is sending to who and will update it throughout the swap. Please post if you have any questions. I hope this will be a fun swap for everyone! |
