We all need a little magic in our lives, and our fairy godmothers or guardian angels dont always make themselves known! So for those times when WE need our own magic wand, to wave over our day, and bring our wishes out in the open, Let's have some fun creating one! International swap, newbies with FULL profile, no no-sends. I will not ban anyone until I have PMed them and heard an explanation for low ratings. Swap Guidelines!: Look over your partners profile - figure out the theme, magical or otherwise, what kind of magic wand they could use or would like - Get inspired by some aspect of who they are! Create a fullsize magic wand! Length must be at least 12" from top to end! Ideas for materials to use: sturdy sticks from trees (US only due to customs), wooden dowels, re-usable items, fabric, ribbons, metal, iconic art, glitter, paint, glass, photos, craft store minitures, feathers, mirrors, etc, etc, etc!!! As an artist, you know how to use your creativity! This is NOT for people who want to just glue stuff on a stick and say its done - You must put some thought and talent into it - whatever your talent is, be it collage, painting, assemblage art, photography, glasswork, jewelery making, put it to use in this swap! Make a magic wand that, quality-wise, YOU would want to receive! If you were to sell it, it would be worth AT LEAST $20....(thats cheap for handcrafted by the way) Feel free to ask questions and make comments below!

Yay! Im excited to see so many who are excited too ;-) I have always wanted to make my own magic wand too - I've used plain sticks, but never decorated anything special....

I am not familiar with international rules. Are you not supposed to send any wood items overseas? Or just wood gathered from the wild? Does anyone know where there is a list of things that you can and cannot send to other countries? Making myself feel super new here... :)

candyn - We cant send any wood from living plants or trees - customs will confiscate and destroy it - I worked for the USDA for a bit - I've seen the customs labs.

Curious to know what sealing medium folks have found non-tacky and durable for this sort of project. It is difficult to keep track of them all! Sorry if this is the wrong place. Point me where I need to be if I need to be somewhere else.
