Have you ever been bitten by the bias bug? You can make gorgeous bias tape that will give your projects that added touch that you just cannot get with store bought bias tape. I dare you to try it!!..It's really not hard....You know you want to! There are plenty of online tutorials to look at for help like this one at Made. Or use the continuous tube method like over at No Big Dill. For either of these methods, you might find it helpful to have a bias tape making tool as shown in the links above, or you can improvise one like Creative Little Daisy does in this link here. Make your partner 3.5 yds of double fold bias tape from 100% cotton. With only a fat quarter, this can be done.....it might be a perfect use for a fat quarter you just didn't know what to do with. The final finished width after folding the sides in and then folding all in half should be 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch as these are the most common useful widths. Small prints work best to show off the fabric on the narrow face that will be visible. Fabric used will be senders choice. Make some to keep.....or you may not want to part with it..... |
