This swap is simple. Make an ATC following these rules:
Find a sturdy material and cut it to ATC size (2.5" x 3.5" or 64mm x 89mm). Sturdy, for this swap, is defined as stiff enough that you can place your index finger on one of the shortest edges and your thumb on the other shortest edge, relax your hand (so now you're sort pinching the card) and the card does not bend or flex.
Find any sheet of paper that is mostly gray (patterns are acceptable) that is at least the size of your ATC or bigger. Crumple it up into a ball. Undo your crumpled ball and smooth out your paper so that it is relatively flat. Glue it onto your sturdy material from step 1 and trim off the edges, so that this gray crumpled paper is now the background of your ATC.
Find something flat and made of paper that takes up less than 1/3 of your ATC. Use a razor blade, exacto knife or other very sharp instrument to cut ~1/8" or 3.75mm fringe along only one edge. You are aiming for fringe like this but on a much smaller scale:
Bend and fold and bend and fold your fringe pieces until some stick up, some stick down, some stick sideways, and some stick the opposite of sideways. Once you're happy with the amount of frazzledness, use anything you wish to attach this item to the lower 1/3 of your ATC.
Find an image that takes up less than 1/3 of your card. Frame it however you choose. Attach this to the top 1/3 of your card.
From here you may do one other technique of your choosing, but that's it! Mail the finished ATC to your partner.
I know everyone in this group is awesome but I reserve the right to ban as I feel needed. >Insert typical flakers get fed to zombies rules<
