I never used to use bookmarks until my daughter started making them for me. Now I have started making them myself and just love to see what I can come up with. I read and so does my oldest daughter and best friend it would be alot cheaper if we owned a book store we read so much between the three of us. So this should be fun-wouldnt mind doing it once every month!!!!

Great swap! I just have one small thing to say: I think it would have been nicer if there weren't so many partners and bookmarks to make. I understand it's nice to receive (and make of course) many bookmarks at once but I myself at least would have more willingly put my energy on a single bookmark and made it the best bookmark in the world. Also, I think everyone would want to receive something that was carefully prepared just for them. 6 bookmarks...maybe some people will lose their energy and end up putting effort on the first couple of ones and just throw something together to finish the last ones. But it's just my worst-case-scenario so there's a huge chance that it won't happen! :) Anyways, as I said - a great swap which I'll probably join. I just need to convince myself I'm up for making a total of 6 bookmarks. I don't want to be the one sending out unsatisfying presents.

I love the idea of this swap, and 6 bookmarks is not alot. You have three different people you will be sending to, so you really only have to create 2 different designs. Three of each design and then each person gets one of each of the designs. You however, get back much more! Six totally different designs, and maybe some new friends! Best of all worlds if you ask me!

But will the same designs meet the likes of all three receivers? Okay, so maybe it's just me but personally I'd want to make something unique for everyone and frankly I'd like to receive something that was carefully prepared just for me. :) Anyhow, I do think this is a wonderful swap concept and I don't mean to complain or anything. I believe I will join because pessimism is not a good quality in a person. :)

satu k maybe next month we can make book marks specifically with themes suggested by our partners so that way they are special for each one or specific themes like atcs and start a new type of collection.

I like the idea of having this many to start with becuase I cant decide what I want to make so I can use all my ideas at once instead of having to choose. I dont always like to give specific things for others becuause I love to see what others will come up with considering they might come up with some things I would have never thought of.

Every one has good points. But you don't make something specific for you partners in every swap that would be way too complicated for as many swaps as I and many others sign up for at once. I think that the point of swap bot, from a craft making perspective is to make what YOU like to make and show it off to others. I like to see what others can come up with based on there likes not my own.

Anyway enough of this debating!!! If you like my swap sign up for it! We are already number 5 in the top ten as of now, so lots of people are excited.

I do plan on doing this again next month starting with themes. I might drop down the amount of bookmarks then since there is a specific theme I'll be asking. I'm not quite sure what it'll be.

Some thoughts are: Favorite Author, Favorite book, favorite Childrens book, Favorite book series. If you guys have any other ideas just post them up here and I'll jott them down for future months!!!

Hi Westie: I know this swap is categorized under "Paper goods", but do the bookmarks have to be made of paper? I work with other materials and have some ideas to use them for functional bookmarks but don't want to join and then be rated low because they aren't made of paper. Thx!

My first ever book mark I made with polymer clay and stamping. Other ideas for themes favorite colors, favorite movie, favorite actor/actress, different ones like the atc swaps(fantasy characters,seasons ,animals....

Tassy, Whatever you want to do!!! As long as the bookmark can fit into a book comfortably. Meaning it's not an inch thick!!! lol it should work. Neat and functional is all I ask! ~westie

Wickett/Teresa, Bombshell-o-matic, and Westie, I won't be getting your bookmarks out until Tuesday. The entire family has been sick (you know, all THREE children, including the one that's 6'5" and 45 years old... :) and I just haven't been able to do what I wanted to with the bookmarks.

Monday is a US holiday for Martin Luther King so, although I will have them in the mailbox on Monday, they won't go out until Tuesday.

Hi Charlotte, I received 2 bookmarks in an international envelope but no return address on it or email name inside at all. So I don't know if they're from you or not. They're very cool, one is like small pieces of art strung together in a long piece and the other is another piece of artwork - sort of old fashioned like. I love them both - I just don't know who to thank or rate as they're the only ones I've received so far. Are they from you?

I mailed my bookmarks on Saturday, Jan 13th to Adriana (in Argentina), Diane (in Calif) and Lori (in Texas). They will arrive in colored envelopes - I sent one in orange, another in blue and another in red. Didn't want you miss seeing them in your regular snail mail. :-)

I really love the beautiful stamping and lettering on the bookmark with my name but my favorite is definitely the knitting bookmark. It must have taken you a long time to draw the knitting hanging off of the needles with the word Read incorporated in the knitting. You really went above and beyond.

But I still haven\'t heard from Kayleigh and apparently, neither have her other two recipients. I hope nothing is wrong, Kayleigh but if you joined only to receive stuff and not send, please take that behavior elsewhere and don\'t hang out at swap-bot. That only gives \'newbies\' a bad rep and that\'s not fair to those who do follow through.
