Description:

Aside from the usual SULG swaps and the now Downsized Editions, I wanted to add another variety of SULG swaps, namely the seasonal ones. Obviously this edition will focus on Winter. Help each other get through the cold days!

Before I get to the rules and the rating requirements, here's the list of things to send:

  • 1 list with 5 movie recommendations, sender's choice. At least 10 lines per movie about why you recommend it.

  • 1 unopened pack (not single sachets) of hot coco, or coffee, or tea. Check profile for preferences.

  • 1 book. If you have a swap partner in another country, make sure the book is in English. This is sender's choice! Of course it's uncool to send romance if your partner is disgusted by that genre, but if you know of a book that you feel your swap partner MUST read, by all means include it!

  • 1 scarf, or bonnet (cap, hat, you could ask your partner for preferences but you don't need to), or pair of gloves, or socks. New and unused, keep the price tag on (you can black out the numbers) or include the receipt.

  • 2 edible products. Must match the season. For example a box of cookies to go with the coffee/tea/hot coco. Or spices for a nice stew. Or baking ingredients. (When you decide to include spices or other ingredients, make sure to include a recipe so your swap partner knows what to do with them, or make sure there is a recipe on the pack. I refer you to the recipes description down below for more info.)

  • 3 recipes for Wintery meals. For example: stew, mash pot, pea soup, and so on. (Cake or pie works fine as well!) Must include pictures (photos, magazine clippings, printed pics, etc.). If you send spices or herbs or other ingredients, you must include a recipe for them. This recipe counts as one of your 3, so you don't have to include a fourth. However if the recipe of the ingredients you include is printed on the pack already, it doesn't count and you must include another one.

  • 1 craft material. Most swappers here are crafters, so check your partner's profile and send something they can use. The point is to help each other through the cold days, so a roll of washi tape won't do. Send something that's more basic and lasts longer, like a bottle of paint, a ball of yarn, a pack of card stock, etc. You're welcome to contact your swap partner about his/her preferences.

  • 3 candles. May be scented. Check profile or ask partner or take no risks. No tea lights!

  • 1 Winter-related gift, sender's choice. Must be new and unused.

Now, on to the rules...

Rating Requirements

Because I know not all swappers with a rating lower than 5 are flakers, I stick to these requirements: You must have a rating of 4.9 and at least 10 successfully completed Type 3 swaps. No recent/unexplained 1s or 3s. No unrated swappers. No excessive amount of Type 1 swaps to get a low rating back up. If I doubt you for whatever reason I will remove you from the participants list. I ban at my discretion.

Minimum & Maximum Prices

Minimum spending limit per item is 1 USD, 0.74 EUR, 0.62 GBP. Currency Calculator here

Maximum spending limit per item is 10 USD, 7.40 EUR, 6.20 GBP.

Shipping Costs

When you send out your parcel you're required to report the overall value of the goodies you're sending. Remember your swap partner may have to pay a customs fee if the value is too high. Please inform at your local post office, the Ministry of Finance, or search Google. Otherwise just set the value at 20 euros, dollars, or whatever your currency is, and that should do the trick as well.

Here in the Netherlands the shipping costs of a parcel with a weight below 2kg is 18 euros. Prices increase with the weight of the parcel. I assume it works the same in your country. Please inform BEFORE the sign up deadline, so you can still bail if the costs are too high.

Condition in which the goodies must arrive

Everything MUST be new and unused. Nothing can be damaged, bent, broken, torn, stained, et cetera, upon arrival. So make sure you wrap everything accordingly. Use bubble wrap if you must.

Communicate!

If you're going out of town or if you're unable to keep in touch for a certain amount of time or if you're delayed or anything else happens that may interfere with the swap or communication about it, let your swap partner and swap coordinator know! Make sure to check your Swap Bot inbox and/or email inbox for messages frequently. If you disappear all of a sudden or send your parcel out too late without telling anyone, it may cost you your ratings or even your swap (because I do what I can to eliminate and bypass flakers).

Flaking

If you've been flaked on or if you think you've been flaked on, please do tell me. I will do what I can to set things right. I make no promises about angeling; I may angel but it strictly depends on some things (that I will not disclose because I do not want to be taken advantage of).

Rating your partner

If your swap partner did not meet the swap requirements, feel free to rate a 3. If you never received anything, feel free to rate a 1 but only if you've given enough time for the parcel to be delivered. After all, mail is slow and sometimes even exceptionally slow. Should you rate a 1 and receive the parcel later without fault of your swap partner, please do change your rating accordingly (don't be a d*ck).
