My dear friend @LauraAust introduced me to paper piecing and I think I’m getting addicted. But, like everything new, practice makes perfect. What better way to force myself to practice than to create a swap for beginners? So here it is. For this swap, you will send your partner one paper pieced square handmade by you. Put your best effort in it and make it something that you are proud of. The square can be any size between 3†x 3†and 10†x 10â€. Theme is sender’s choice. The goal of this swap is really to learn and get familiar with paper piecing so I’m trying to avoid too many restriction for you to be free to express your creativity without the stress of finding something that your partner will like. As long as the effort is there, that’s what matters. Of course, you can join if you are an experienced quilter or sewer but be ready to receive something done by a beginner. Now, here is a few links that helped me get started in case they might help you as well. Paper Piecing Made Easy Video Tutorial by the Crafty Gemini Tutorial with images, text and videos A lot of FREE paper piecing patterns on Craftsy For those who fall in love and want to invest in an awesome tutorial course, Mastering Paper Piecing by Carol Doak. It’s on sale now and I bought it. It’s very well constructed and detailed. Of course, there is always the good old google image search for free paper piecing patterns. Just let your imagination flow. Swap requirement and rating P.S.: I'm giving a 3 weeks deadline, it should be enough to complete a nice item made with love and care. |
