Description:

Halloween is my favorite holiday so I thought it would be fun to share some Halloween whimsy with other swappers! You'll simply need to create a fun Halloween-themed package for another lucky swapper, complete with the following:

*10 pieces of Halloween ephemera or cutouts (any kind of paper goodies - not including stickers.) *1 Halloween sticker sheet or 12 individual stickers (no sticker flakes, please) *1 non-flat item (this could be anything - charms, small toys, buttons, rubber stamps, roll of Halloween ribbon, roll of washi tape, etc.) *candy - It's not Halloween without candy! One regular size bar or package of candy or 5 individual pieces.** If you have some type of food allergy, dietary requirement or strong preference, write it in the comments section below. Swappers, please be sure to check the comments section once partners are assigned to prevent any issues with this. Thank you!**

That's it! You're welcome to include more in your package, but you're required to include each of the items mentioned above. If you're getting stuck for ideas of what to include, think of:

*images of bats, cats, witches, monsters, vampires, graves, etc. *Halloween words and phrases *die cuts, postcards, greeting cards *Things colored orange/black, orange/purple, etc. - ribbon, cardstock, tags, tickets, ephemera *Anything spooky, magical or mystical *Magazine or book cutouts *Scrapbooking, Smashbook, Project Life elements

You don't have to be too literal - let your imagination run wild!

As always, please do not include items that are dirty, smelly or torn or broken. Used items are welcome as long as they aren't icky! :)

Please be sure to rate fairly. If your partner sent an item from each of the categories, and sent it on time, then you should rate a "5". This is sender's choice, but as I said, please check comments for your partner's food issues or preferences. If you are going to be late for any reason, please be sure to communicate with your partner, so as to avoid any unpleasantness.

If you're interested, there's also a Halloween/autumn-themed "Themes in an Envie" swap posted:

I was asked to estimate how much shipping might be to USA or Canada. While it's hard to do that without knowing exactly what's in the package, weight, etc., there are Priority mail options for U.S. (small flat rate padded envelope or small flat rate box should work for most of what we're sending) that are relatively inexpensive. Here's my response regarding postage options:

Since most of what we're sending won't be very heavy or large, I'd think you could fit it all in either a small Priority flat rate padded envelope (around $5.75) or small Priority flat rate box (around $5.80). If it's really light, it might be even cheaper to just do first class postage instead - priority is sometimes cheaper, but not always. As far as Canada, I'm not really sure how many Canadian swappers we have, but I don't think that the postage is generally too outrageous, if you do first class international. I did a check and if you send a 6 oz padded envelope (I was just guessing at weight) to Canada, you can do it first class international for around $8.00. Here's the Postage calculator website for USPS: http://postcalc.usps.com/

As far as the candy element of this swap goes, please send nothing that can melt unless you put in in a separate zip locked Baggie please :) I love my candy but it is still very hot (100 degrees F most days) here in southern Texas. Oh and I am very allergic to cinnamon. Thank you <3

Oooh thanks for the heads-up, Caraty - it's getting chilly here in Ohio so I wouldn't have thought about the heat anywhere else! Lol

I agree nothing that melts =( hard candies or candy corn or something like that would be great but it is hot here too and melting candy would not be a good thing.

Gotta love the south... Ugh! Can't wait for real autumn. Whenever that is.

chelle523 09/21/2014 #

Well, if it's anything like fall here, it lasts for about a 12-hour period between summer and winter. LOL

Caraty 09/28/2014 #

Haha. We had about 48 hours of "fall" here and then straight back to summer...GO AWAY heat!!!!
