You can get started on this project now, since you have almost a month to work on it but you can start preparing now and once you know your partner you can add just a little special touches based on your partner's likes!

WHAT TO DO: You are to make them a Junk Journal and add motivational or inspirational quotes but also have plenty of blank spaces for your partner to writing/gluing/drawing....

All blank pages should not 'literally' be a blank white page. Blank pages mean (undecorated patterned, coffee or tea stained, or solid colored page... )

Pages do not need to be "matchy-match" You must make the cover out of sturdy cardboard, like cereal box sturdy ( or sturdy fabric like canvas ; optional )

• You must decorate the cover

• You must have at least 30 pages of varying sizes

• You must bind the book with twine, rings, coptic stitch, pamphlet stitch, etc

• You can use ephemera, found paper and so on

• You must add pockets

• You must add tags, cards, doilies

• You must add belly band

• You must add tuck spot

• You must add spots for photos

• You must make the book vertical

• You must make the book 6 by 8 inches (12.7cm by 17.78 cm) or larger

• Rubberstamping a big + ...

Optional:

• You can use spiral / wire bound but not required

• You can use at least 2 binder rings, so it keeps a form of a journal, not flashcards.

• Maps, dictionary pages, book pages, photos, postcards...go to town!!!

• For the cover you can use chipboard, fabric, canvas but must be sturdy at least like cereal box sturdy

Please create pages that your recipient will be able to write on There is a fine line between a junk journal and a 'junky' journal that looks trashy and feels yucky.

Please err on the side of quality ephemera and papers rather than junk. I just want to ensure it will be used and loved too.

SHIPPING:

Final things- when you send your package out make sure and send it in a box or a bubble mailer. Make sure it can travel without getting banged up. Only open to US due to shipping costs
