The Glorious 25th of May

The day is almost upon us where, in certain circles, the People’s Revolution of the Glorious Twenty-Fifth of May is remembered by wearing the lilac by those who survived. In other circles, people bring their towels with them everywhere. Fans of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld wear the lilac to honor the heroes of the Revolution and to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s.

We will be swapping one item to remember the Glorious Revolution, the book Night Watch, and its creator, Sir Terry Pratchett. In order for the items to reach their destination close to May 25th, this will be a quick swap.

Send your partner a greeting or piece of mail art to commemorate the Revolution and/or the book. While this is a quick swap, please send something that requires a bit of creative effort.

Ideas of what to send:

• Greeting card written from behind the barricade

• Postcard from your favorite character in the Revolution

• Decorated card with quotes from the book

• ATC (Artist Trading Card)

• A letter telling your mother that the revolution has destroyed the heirloom table your great-great grandfather made.

Can you send something more detailed like a Pocket Letter, an embroidered towel, a fake and decorated boiled egg? Sure! But keep in mind that what you receive may not be at the same level. Please make sure to rate based on the requirements of the swap, not what you sent.

Please do not join if you have any doubt that you will not be able to send to your partner on time. No unexplained 1’s or 3’s. I will angel if I have to, but let’s not make the angels rise up, yeah?
