Origamic architecture -- it's the perfect architecture to deliver by mail, and a great way to make use of the backlighting that we in the Northern Hemisphere are fond of in the darker months ... Southern Hemispherites can admire it in the long summer evenings as well! Origamic architecture refers to the strategy involved in creating a pop-up effect from a single sheet of paper -- no need to limit yourself to buildings, as charming as they are. Using the many ideas here0, here1, here2, here3, here4, or also here5, or any other resource of your choice (apparently books are available!), make a backlight-friendly paper item based on origamic architecture to send to one partner. As always, swap is open to any ZMACS member in good standing. I will origami any unsent swaps. Please enjoy yourselves and swap in good cheer! Image: Uwajima Castle card by Evermore Enterprises |
