Description:

In this swap, we will be making a beautiful Matroyshka doll for our ONE partner based on the following blog and pattern: http://www.maizehutton.com/matryoshkadoll.html

Lovely, isn't it? We'll make our own version, but the shape and design of the doll should remain true to the design of Maize Hutton (link above). Add your touch to it and make it special for your partner. If you can, try to tie in your partner's likes for it. You could even stuff it with lavender or mint if you want. We will get one partner, and yes, this is international. Extra dolls, or matroyska themed items will deem hearts. Please, only a rating of 4.5 or higher and no flakes, ok? Let's send this out in time for Valentine's day!

Do we have to follow that patten exactly, or just the general idea? Can we make our version of nesting dolls?

That is so cute! I can't wait to get home and start making mine. YAY!! And I got a $50 craft store gift card for Christmas to load up on more craft and sewing supplies. :o)

well, the idea is to make them out of felt, yes. But so long as the shape and design are the same, I say, make them out of what you have at home. No sense in making an extra trip to the craft store.

What I was asking is do they have to be exactly that shape and size? What if I want to make some slightly larger and have 4 dolls? Or make them a slightly different shape? I guess I don't like having to follow patterns too much. The point for me is to create something totally unique

sure, they can be larger, if you like! So long as they are true to the idea of the pattern. In other words, it should look like a variation on the doll. Your own, your own size (larger is fine smaller is not).
