Let’s make a Teesha Moore inspired patch! If you’ve never made one, you can find the YouTube tutorial here. There are 4 parts and they should play one after the other. You’ll be making 1 patch for 1 partner. This will be sender’s choice, so you can get working on your patch right away. You don’t have to follow the tutorial exactly. For instance, I have been making these patches for several years and have developed my own style. Instead of using polyfil, I use a layer of fleece in between my two pieces of fabric. Also my edging is more like quilt binding/is more finished looking. Embellish your patch with quilting, felt appliques, beads, buttons, or whatever your heart desires. If you’re feeling brave, do a shaped patch (e.g. circular or even a tree!). There really is no wrong way to do this. Let your creativity soar! You can find tons of examples on Pinterest or Google Images for inspiration. The back of your patch can be messy because eventually when you get enough patches, you can make a bag, journal cover, or wall hanging from your collection. I have so many I could probably make a small quilt! EDITED: SIZE IS UP TO THE SENDER'S DISCRETION. I will vet this swap of course, but we have a great group of swappers, so we shouldn’t run into any issues. Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have. I tend to forget to check the comments. The picture above is a patch I made recently. |
