Description:

Hello lovely Australasian friends - Two reasons I wanted to make this swap:

  1. The northern hemisphere gets so into their autumn swaps in the lead up to Christmas and we don't get to participate !
  2. The current SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19 pandemic is a huge drain on our JOY because of the anxiety, fear, shortages, and above all the isolation. So I want to foster opportunities to safely 'socialise' and focus on happy pleasant things to calm our hearts and minds ☺️

.

Components:

  • Part One of this swap is an autumnal piece of happymail art.
    • please include EITHER (ONE OF THE FOLLOWING): a handmade collage or postcard, an autumn flipbook of at least two pages, a 3+ pocket pocketletter, a 3+ tag tagflip, or a collection of handmade embelishments or decos and some stationary or crafting supplies - SENDER'S CHOICE but do consider your partner's dislikes to avoid
    • decorated envelope mail art (no need to be elaborate, just impart a sense of autumn) if sticker slapping, use at least 3 stickers/ washi tapes
    • a small flat profile based surprise such as a tiny envelope full of used stamps or two sealed tea sachets etc, something your partner says that they like on their profile
    • a short note to your partner about your favourite autumn activity or memory, regardless of whether it's possible to do this year during the health crisis. Include your username and the swap name. DO NOT make this a sad letter about how you are stuck indoors this year, this swap should be uplifting, it may be your partners ONLY fun autumn gift.
  • PART TWO of the swap is a series of TWO EMAILS (minimum) which can be sent any time between when partners are assigned and the swap date

    • each of the emails should indicate whether you want to reply and have a back and forth conversation - if you DON'T get a reply, please do not send more than the necessary two emails as not everyone wants to chat. If you do get a reply, that's great and you can use the opportunity to socialise while we are all a little lonelier than usual.
    • each email should include a photo or gif of something you LOVE about Autumn, with a short paragraph of the happy thoughts the picture gives you.
    • each email should have the subject line 'autumn joy from @...' your username

    .

Rules

  • no flakers
  • no damaged or junky items
  • including extras is welcome unless your partner's profile says no extras
  • no recent 1s or 3s
  • aim for one-stamp postage (flat envelope) and do not rate down if your partner doesn't go 'overboard' just because you were extra generous
  • the craft component does not need to be big in size or elaborate, but should be carefully and thoughtfully done. You may spend anywhere from 40 minutes up to 2 or 3 hours on it depending on what YOU enjoy doing, but again if you spent a whole day making an immaculate piece and you receive a simple nice product of an hour's effort, keep in mind that you are the one who did more than the swap required and do not rate down. Crafts should be well prepared and thoughtful and designed to spark joy in your partner.
  • have fun and look after yourself, stay healthy and safe, and don't panic!
  • no ableism or discrimination or judgemental conduct allowed in any of my swaps.
