Hi swappers! Let's follow one of Nina Ribena's tutorials, found HERE to create 3 handmade buttons for our partners. Your buttons should measure between 1" and 2" and have 2 or 4 holes per button (2 is easier!) If you don't have a Japanese screw punch (the tool Nina uses), you can use a Crop-a-dile, a heavy-duty punch, an awl, or a drill. Try to get the button holes as closely aligned as possible. Nina begins with a collage sheet; you may do the same or punch circles out of any paper you like. If you don't have any gilder's paste wax or the Treasure Gold Nina uses, you could use gold paint, a leafing pen, gold leaf, emboss the edges with gold embossing powder, or glue gold glitter around the edges. If you're not a fan of the gold edging, simply skip that step. I'm hoping these are simple; I think they would be lovely using Chrismtas prints. Hope to see you in the swap! |
