Description:

I decided to stop doing most craft swaps. So I will be giving away my stash on a monthly basis to the person that I am partnered with. The only person who will be sending anything is me. I will be sending out a large flat rate box. I tried using a small flat rate box last month, but it was just so tiny. I never realized how small it actually was until I tried to use one. It's seems that all the boxes have gotten smaller. It will contain random items so if you are fussy, this isn't the swap for you.

I have made this swap USA, due to cost. I hope everyone understands.

Each month I will assign a different question that you need to answer underneath the swap.

This month's question is how do you plan to celebrate Valentine's Day? I recommend putting down your comment when you sign-up so that you don't forget.

Good luck everyone.

I plan to have a nice dinner at home with my son. This will be the first Valentine's Day since my husband passed away so it will be difficult. I didn't send out Valentine's cards this year because of it. Hopefully I will be back to sending them out again next year.

I will be celebrating Valentine's day, more than likely in surgery. I'll see this coming Friday. But if not, me and my husband will go out for a nice dinner, and rent a movie and cuddle on the couch!

PerArduaAdAlta 02/ 1/2021 #

Ok, so Feb. 14 is V-Day, as we all know, and Feb. 15 is both my anniversary and my birthday! And I'm not a big "holiday" so I have to say I like that they're all bunched together and then gone until the next year 😆. But I always buy myself a BUNCH of chocolates on "National Discount Candy Day" (Feb. 15, hahaha...)! I stock up for the year! I mean, Ghirardelli and Lindy chocolate half off?!? Yes please! 💝

My hubby and I will be visiting our daughter. Her and her 2 roommates and their 2 cats just rented a nice big house together that we will see in person for the first time. Not only are we celebrating Valentine’s Day together but also my daughter’s Birthday which is 2/8. We will tour the house: haha, have a wonderful visit and enjoy a nice meal together with Birthday cake & ice cream... or maybe an ice cream cake for dessert.

Under normal circumstances, my boyfriend and I would probably go out to a nice dinner and do something to treat ourselves. But because of covid we will most likely stay in, cook for ourselves, and exchange gifts. Definitely not as romantic as usual, but we will make the most of it. Sometimes the quiet evenings at home turn out to be the best.

Aloha! What a great swap you are doing!! I just had to let you know. Every year I send valentines to our military personnel so they are not forgotten & are loved (or sadly, only remembered on Christmas)

I got the idea many years ago from this article:

https://soldiersangels.org/valentines-for-veterans/

But COVID has changed this also so I will just contact my local hospital to see what I may do.

Be safe everyone and love your loved ones everyday but be extra sweet on Valetines Day!! xx MuggleMom

Oh, yvonne401! I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your husband. I am so glad that you have your son to remember him in some way. Sending big hugs. Thank you for your generosity! My husband's birthday is also the 15th. Happy Birthday PerArduaAdAlta! Our first date anniversary is 2/16/96, so we are celebrating 25 years of being together, and 20 years of marriage. We call this time of year our 3 in one holiday! We usually have a quiet night at home on Valentine's Day due to the crazy crowds having the same idea of going out to dinner. So, the restaurant's usually aren't as busy the next day for my husband's birthday. So, we will celebrate our 3 in 1 on the 15th with a restaurant of his choice. :D

TaraBird 02/ 1/2021 #

I don't really do anything generally for Valentine's day but I hope everyone's is filled with love and joy <3

Poohtat 02/ 1/2021 #

I will be spending Valentine's Day with a quiet dinner at home stressing over my upcoming surgery on the 16th! We always stay home on Val Day to avoid all the people that are out and about that evening. We'e seen way to many fights or all the groping happening. Would rather be at home with the love of my life.

BlueberryLady 02/ 1/2021 #

Attend Church Service ( park car drive in Style and Turn Radio to 88.3 FM ) right in parking lot of Church, Might make Cookies and will be doing Laundry of course... LOL

MCGalaxy 02/ 1/2021 #

I'm under the score to be eligible for this swap but I'm commenting anyway just in case the 2 missing swaps are straightened out by the time that sign up closes for this swap.

We don't have money this year so we're not celebrating Valentines Day. My husband hasn't worked for almost a year and I've had my own medical issues so money's too tight this year. Plus there's no where to go out to anyway since we live in NYC and the restaurants are all still closed down.

The story of the real Saint Valentine is about a martyr who wrote letters in friendship to the daughter of his jailer. The last letter he wrote was on the day of his execution, February 14. He signed the letter "Your Valentine. " This was the 1st letter the daughter did not need to have read to her, because Valentine's 1st miracle was that at the hour of his death the blind daughter was given sight. We have all gone through a tough 12 months. In May, my husband had a headache and woke up the next morning blind in one eye. We rushed him to a hospital where, during the 3 days he was in, he saw firsthand what health care workers were facing in the pandemic. His sight never returned. In December he was hospitalized again for damage from a routine in office medical procedure, and saw that some things had positively changed, but also the exhausted nurses. My son-in-law is currently hospitalized with heart damage from covid. So for Valentine's Day we are making cards from our family to health care workers, 1st responders and teachers and sending them with our love. We will hold each other close, bake something in a heart shape, and just be glad that the people we love are not alive and whole, but just alive.

I’ll be entertaining my 5 and 8 year old grandsons while my daughter and son-in-law go out to lunch. These two have my heart and give me so much joy. The older one when asked what he wished for with the turkey wishbone at Thanksgiving replied “that grandma doesn’t go to heaven!” This is because he knows my life has been cut short by pancreatic cancer and he wants me to stick around.

This year my immediate family of four and I will be baking and decorating cupcakes and we plan on having a nice meal together in the evening. We will get to spend the entire day together since it falls on a Sunday this year. We'll most likely spend some time in our yard playing tetherball or other outdoor shenanigans, weather permitting. Otherwise we will watch a movie, and play some board and card games that we got for Christmas. I will also drop off some flowers and chocolates to my mother who will be happy to receive them.

Ashzaller 02/ 2/2021 #

Watching for now-

For valentines we dont really do anything. My husband works in a restaurant (i used to also) so we just kinda hate the holiday hhaha! Ive always said we love each other always and get random happy gift for each other all yer long- so its just a day! lol

K8thecrafter 02/ 2/2021 #

I'm not really sure what I'll be doing on Valentine's Day. I predict dinner at home with hubby and the kids, then maybe make a pan of brownies or something to make the day a little more special. Hubby and I don't trade gifts on Valentine's Day, just cards, so I need to get started on his very soon!

yvonne401 02/ 2/2021 #

Also his birthday was the same month as Valentine's Day, on 2/12. I've been truly touched by some of your comments. We need to be truly grateful for what we have, not worry about what we don't have.

KathyB 02/ 3/2021 #

I will probably be working. That's ok, as don't have someone special in my life right now.

DragonflyDreamer 02/ 3/2021 #

This year will be a special Valentine's day for my husband and me. It will be our 5th anniversary as a couple and our first Valentine's day as husband and wife! Not exactly sure what we will actually do however. Most likely a quiet dinner at home and a movie on the couch snuggled up with the puppy dog.

2Hearts 02/ 4/2021 #

Considering that Covid is still raging and we haven't been able to get vaccinated yet, my husband and I will be having a nice dinner at home. A nice glass of wine, a good steak and my special Lemon Cheesecake will be shared - by candlelight of course!

Snaileditcrafts 02/ 5/2021 #

What a fun swap! Thank you! My husband and I have a Valentine tradition of cooking steak, lobster, and asparagus at home. This tradition got started when we drove from restaurant to restaurant, trying to dine for dinner. Impossible! The wait lines were crazy! So, we decided the next valentines that we would make a delicious meal at home. It has been a tradition ever since!

Mitziishere 02/ 6/2021 #

My hubby will cook dinner (he’s the chef in the family), and I’ll set up a zoom call with my 4 grandkids. They all live out of town. I’ve had so much fun making and sending them all Valentines Day cards this year.

laurenmarie323 02/ 7/2021 #

I don't have any specific plans, but I think Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday. I don't know what exactly I like so much, maybe the colors or the opportunity to write notes to my friends (or maybe the discounted chocolate on the 15th). I probably will be at home with the family and treat myself to some candy!

atomita2 02/11/2021 #

I'm having a dinner with my family, we've been doing it the past 4 years. We have a candle lite dinner of steak (Salisbury steak for me and my brothers), shrimp, salad, and I'm going to be making chocolate cupcakes this year!

traceyj 02/12/2021 #

I used to organize an event for kids to make valentines to deliver to various senior living centers, but we obviously didn't do that this year. We might get takeout but most likely it will be a quiet dinner at home. Maybe I'll bake up some chocolate banana cake for a treat.

TonyaAshe 02/12/2021 #

I will be celebrating Valentines Day with my Mom, Dad, Son. I plan on spending all my time with them celebrating the holiday. I buy Chocolates for everyone.

sweetgypsy 02/15/2021 #

We never do anything special for Valentine's Day really. We have been together for 26 years. In the earlier years, we did more but my husband does usually always get me flowers for Vday, he does that throughout the year anyways!

Kittybob83 02/15/2021 #

We are super boring! My bf usually gets me a card, and we have a nice dinner. We been together so long it's nothing we get excited over. We always get our daughter a little gift and candy. But the day after, i love getting that left over half off candy!!

cynaemon 02/15/2021 #

My sister and I celebrated by doing an online museum scavenger hunt with our Pool and Potluck Party group. It was great fun. I also called my boyfriend, who sent me a beautiful bracelet. I hope you all had a great day too.

SunflowerRose 02/15/2021 #

My husband and i celebrated by just staying home. We gave each other custom made gifts. Not planed either. Well maybe by my daughter now im thinking bout it. Um.. I will have to ask her now. With the ice storm that we had we just decided to stay put. Go out after we "thaw" here. March or april maybe from the looks of it

Cynfully 02/15/2021 #

my husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day playing slots at the Hard Rock casino.. lol we have never been big on celebrating holidays and we enjoy going to the casino every now and there so we loaded up and off we went... nope we didnt win..lol

walla2kitty 02/15/2021 #

We have two feet of snow and it's still falling. My husband got up early and bought me a couple day supply of my favorite drink and I made us a quiche with what we had on hand. It was a good day spent inside.

yvonne401 02/16/2021 #

Our winner is @BlueberryLady . I'll post when I send.

Adolpha 02/16/2021 #

Why was I banned from a swap for not swapping if you are the only one sending anything. I’m confused!

Mitziishere 02/19/2021 #

I’m confused. I see I have a swap partner. A RAK destash... how many items and is a 6 x 9 envelope too small? Is there a certain weight we are aiming for?
