I have this swap, Create a Journal & Write! posted in the group for a type 3 swap where you will make a journal and then fill it out. Sadly, there are still areas of the world where mail is slow or stopped still, so some of our members might not be able to commit to actually sending the journal, even lightweight. So by suggestion, we will have an email version as well! I REALLY wish I could classify this as a type 3 swap! Because it IS time intensive, but it will be sent via EMAIL so I guess it has to be a type 1. I'm sorry about that. For this swap, you will have 3 partners (because you will just be sending photographs of your journal, and can BCC all 3 partners), and it's International. If you joined the Create a Journal & Write swap, BEFORE you sent it off, you can TOTALLY take photos of your completed journal and send them for this swap! Or, you can follow the directions, create a new journal and fill it out and take pictures and email the pictures. I really want everyone to get the chance to try this out and I hope you'll all let me know what you think. Maybe this can be a regular swap for us! Follow the directions below to create the journal and fill it out. Then take photos of the pages (the Adobe Scan app would be helpful, if you have it!). Attach those photos to an email and send the email to your partner(s) with the swap name and your swap bot ID. And, hey, now you get to keep the journal. :) The directions from the other swap: Lately, I've been playing around a lot with printable journal pages, and found a site called Creative Art n' Soul It is free to sign up and they offer free printable designs on their pages, as well as designs you can pay for. They have a blog and link to You Tube crafting videos as well, so for someone like me who is scared to create art :) it's pretty handy. :) Please check out How to make a basic printable junk journal to create a junk journal. You do not need to use the printables from the site! (Printing at home is nice, but I know not everyone is able to.) You can use any scrapbook paper, stationery - whatever paper you have that will work for journal pages is fine. If you wish to use the printables, that's great! But I'm Not making that a requirement! Make this journal something YOU would enjoy. You are sending it to your partner, but feel free to let your journal reflect YOU rather than tailoring it for your partner. I think this could be a fun way for us to get to know each other. :) The journal should be about half a sheet of computer paper (or A5) in size, try not to make them too much smaller. Your journal should have a cover and a total of 4 pages (1 page = 1 sheet front and back, so a minimum of about 1 sheet of computer sized paper, folded in half. Please let me know if this doesn't make sense!) This will be a small journal both because it is our first time with this (so MY first time with making this to send out to the world!), but also to keep the postage costs down, so that it won't be difficult or costly to mail to your partner. (The 2 sheets of computer paper and an envelope, depending on embellishments, should mail for about the same weight as a standard letter.) Edit: The above directions are from the original swap where we would actually mail out the journals. I forgot to edit that when I made this Email version of the swap! So, since you are not required to mail anything, you can make the journal larger, if you wish. Make sure the pictures you take and send are clear to show your partners what you created. IF your journal is larger or smaller than the A5-ish size, that's ok. Sorry for the confusion! You can use ANY decorations you wish! If you just want to do washi or stickers, that's fine. If you want to paint/draw - go for it! You can use some of the pintables, or whatever you have on hand. Now! On the pages! You can WRITE or do ART or BOTH to introduce yourself to your partner. Some things to talk about - your hobbies, your journal experiences, your book loves, the type of writing you enjoy. Go beyond what you have on your profile. You can talk about your family and pets and where you live, if you like. If you can reflect yourself in artwork, this can do an art journal. Since this journal is reflecting YOU, you can start on it before you sign up! Just be sure you can get it done and mailed on time. If you have ANY questions, please send me a PM & I"ll reply as soon as I can. Remember, you don't have to use the printable in the link at all, it's just a suggestion. And this is all about introducing yourself to your partner(s), so you can start now. :) |
