I thought it might be fun for us to look at different holidays and their symbols. If there is enough interest, I will continue one, try for one a month. If you can think of any holidays or symbols that we could cover, please send me a PM - OR - CHECK OUT THIS FORUM THREAD and add ideas. :) My first thought with this idea was of St Patrick's day and the creepy Leprechaun movies that came out a few years ago - those folks seem to be right for this group! But, I'm sure dear old St Valentine has some stories to tell beyond love poems, right? So, for this International swap, you will have 1 partner. Look up information about St Valentine (an internet search is fine, and you can even use Wikipedia - this isn't school), and prepare something for your partner. Wait, what 'something'? Yes! The swap you send your partner can be:
Be sure to include the swap name and your SB ID! Be sure to send on time! This is not a partner or profile specific swap, so you can certainly start on it when you sign up or put it on your watch list - just be sure you send on time. Be sure you package it well and include the right amount of postage! Postage rules are changing, so if you are sending something a little thicker or oddly shaped, check with the post office to ensure you have the right postage. IF you are sending outside your country, some larger envelopes are now requiring customs forms. Just to make our life more fun! ;) And, most importantly, make something for your partner that you would like to receive, that you are happy with and proud of. If you attempt an art-work and it's not working out, remember you can ALWAYS send the information in a letter form instead! As long as there is interest in this type of swap and the feedback is going well, I'm more than happy to make this a very open to interpretation type of regular swap. IF you have ANY questions or comments please send me a PM and remember to check out the forum and list other holidays and ideas. |
