HI swappers! Let's create some faux rice paper by following THIS tutorial You'll be creating 3 pieces of faux rice paper for your partners, each piece measuring no smaller than 5"x7" (larger is fine). Some patterns might lend themselves more easily to this project, like non-directional patterns; that said, use what you have on hand--it will be beautiful ;+) Of the 3 pieces you create, 2 must be patterned and the 3rd is sender's choice--another patterned piece or one of the other layers on your napkin. The most important step in the process is the removal of the piece from the freezer paper. GO SLOWLY--remember, you will have 'glued' beyond the borders of your napkins and that glue will form a strip (sort of like when you put glue on your fingers in grade school!) So, use a craft knife on the edges you'll be pulling off the freezer paper first, and the rest should remove smoothly. Hope to see you in the swap! |
