Description: | |
For this International swap you will create a mix cd full of great songs that INTENTIONALLY do not mix, flow, or make any particular sense together. The point is NOT to purposefully include "bad" songs -- but rather to be free to put songs that do not match in the same mix, in any order, without regard to the fact that you are wildly changing tempos, genres, or mood. The point is also not to just randomly throw a bunch of songs on your cd. Put as much effort into making tunes NOT MATCH as you might normally put into making sure that they flow together. Burn at least 12 songs - but feel free to add as many as will fit on the cd. Decoration of packaging/presentation is encouraged, but not necessary. I came up with this idea because sometimes, while putting together a mix cd that fits a particular "theme" . . . I end up struggling with song order because one song doesn't match the following song . . . that doesn't flow to the next song . . . that sounds weird with the next song . . . you get the picture. Because I typically rip the songs and make my own playlists in iTunes -- that sort of thing doesn't really concern me on the receiving end of a swap. But I have to keep in mind that a lot of the swappers, whom I send to, actually listen to the cd as they would an album. That makes song order, mood, and beat speed a vital part of putting a mix together. With this swap, we'll be working creatively to create those problems rather than solve them :) Who can participate? Anyone with at least 5 successfully mailed swaps and a rating of 4.7 or better. Newbies who do not meet the criteria are encouraged to contact me and I will consider setting up a private swap so that you can have fun too and gain ratings! |
