Read the recommended Bible passages and the thought-provoking blurb below. Send your partner a letter or notecard answering the questions at the end of this post. Don't forget to pray and invite the Lord into your study time. Bible passages to read and reflect on this week: 2 Timothy Chapter 1 (The Key Passage is 2 Tim. 1:5-7) Timothy grew up learning from his mother and grandmother. They are important enough for Paul to mention them by name in his letter to the young man. Paul states that while the faith first lived in Lois and Eunice, he knows the faith is now Timothy’s as well. A godly example is a great blessing to a young person. Did you follow in the footsteps of a mother or father? A grandparent or other relative? Perhaps you are a first-generation Christian. Did you have a spiritual mentor in a pastor or friend? Everyone needs to see faith modeled and lived out before her. Do you serve as an example for younger Christians? Perhaps your own children or students? Maybe nieces or nephews look up to you. You may model Christianity for those your own age, your peers. Baby Christians come in all ages! Seek out a spiritual mentor if you don’t already have one and find a way to mentor younger women in the faith as well. Both are equally important. Who lived out their faith before Timothy and inspired him to follow Christ as well? Who were your examples in the Christian faith? For whom do you serve as a Christian role model? Did you have any other thoughts or questions from your study this week? Share your thoughts! |
