Deco Swap

Defininition: basically it is a blank little book ( usually 4-6 pages) that has a theme. When you recieve it, you decorate 1 page with the theme and pass it to the next person. When it is full, it gets sent hoem to the person who made it! So they get a nice little decorated booklet back!

If this is to be a round robin why don't we just post on to the same person each time untill we get our own back?

I love this idea, but I have a bunch of Questions...How little is a little book?...do we all use the same number of pages and how do we know who did which page? When you say that we each decorate a page do you mean a spread, or half a spread? Do we each choose our own theme? I guess that's enough for now, but if you give me a minute, I'm sure to think up some more!

I am so in! I been getting into more smaller decos then the a4 size. Since you listed a few groups I was in, I am assuming that this is a no tape/staple deco right? If you use staples for decorative purposes only? Also is it a rr or the first time around we get from the swap-bot partner sign it, send it to another swap-bot person then are free to send to whoever?

YES! I'm so glad there's a swap for this (and a circle for decorating). I actually found this site because I was craving some deco trades!

I have edited the swap to include the requirement of no staples or tape as a means to bind your decos.

Yes, this is a spin off of a round robin. I'm just facilitating the first two steps.

Here's further clarification: You will a) make one Deco for each of your 3 partners and send it to them, b) once you receive a deco from a partner you will e-mail me c) I will provide you with another name and address (of someone who's deco has been received by their partner) and you send your deco to them to add to and forward - from this point, please find other resources (a few listed above) to forward your Decos to.

Also, if all goes well, there may be other Deco swaps listed here - included ones that have already gotten started.

O.k. call me an idiot, but I'm still unsure I understand everything...I make three decos...blank, and send them to my partner, Do I decide the theme and decorate the cover? Do I need to include anything else, like a log so I know where it's been and who did what? I'm still not sure whats considered a page, is it a spread or just one side? Once I recieve ablank deco from my partner I need to know how much of it to decorate, and how I let them know I added to thier booklet. I get that I'll e-mail for the next destination, I'm just unsure about how I get started, then what I'm expected to do once I recieve! So many of you sound experienced with these little gems, I love the idea of these, but I've never done one before....anybody out ther feel like cluing me in?

alleycat once you get a deco & signed the deco it is considered established in most cases. You can find swap groups on yahoo groups that swap decos.

Hi all, I have received all 3 decos and now I'm confused as when I made my decos I made them so they would end up comming back to me. Two of the 3 that have arrived have been made for me the other as I have done to be returned to the maker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what was the right way to do this as I don't know what to do about this problem now????????????????

The decos that I received from my partners were labeled to be returned to someone else. My understanding was that three people would make a deco that was due to return to me, and that I would make three decos that were eventually to come home to my partners. This has been very disappointing.

I understood we make the decos for whomever. We send them to our partners then the hostess would tell the people who to send them too. Then they would be on their merry little way to the great deco world. So what is supposed to be right? because if I didn't do mine right I would like to remake my decos.

p.s. I have not rec'd a deco from this swap either. Now that is dissapointing.

I made the decos FOR my partners. It says "Made by Nicole Introvert FOR blah blah" with the partners address. This was my understanding and how i've seen decos in the past that were made for other folks.

the one i have recieved was made by the person for themselves. It's a nice deco... don't get me wrong but i think that it was supposed to be geared towards my taste with my address inside.

As I seem to be the person who did all 3 wrong I will remake and resend to my partners. I'm soooooo sorry I got the wong end of the stick.
