Description:

This is a swap for Pagans, Witches, and those who believe in the Goddess! What each person will be doing is putting together a single charm with a face of the Goddess inside (these charms will ultimately lead to a charm bracelet with future swaps.)

How the Charm will be constructed and Requirements:

You need a small metal picture frame charm (they are a small square metal piece-picture frame- where you can slide in an image. You can get them at pretty much any craft store. Eg. Michael's, JoAnne's, possibly Wal Mart.) They cost about $2 but they have 2 or more in a pack.

The image- the selected image must fit inside the picture frame! No cartoon-esk drawings/paintings for the picture, we are going for elegance! Also the image is of a Goddesses Face!!! The Maker get to choose which Goddess! The image can be printed off the Internet, cut from a catalogue etc. With the image you can paint a background in watercolor etc. -NO MARKERS/ CRAYONS! If you decide to do an altered art Goddess image in the charm, make sure the image can be clearly seen.

The picture frame comes with a slide-y plastic cover that goes over the image, make sure you don't forget to put it on lest the image is exposed to the elements!

VERY IMPORTANT* Additional requirements:

The Goddess face charm must come with some sort of note that explains who She is and what her name is!

You must select an additional hangy thing for the future bracelet -eg. a spiral charm, a small crystal point with a bail attached a pentacle, a tree, cauldron, broom, bell, book, etc. (nothing massively large though, it has to blend!)

(ADJUSTED!!) Swapper requirements:

5.0 ONLY -Newbies are welcome, if you are a Flaker do not join this swap.

The Goal of this swap is to really see how the meaning and face of the Goddess differs from person to person. This will become a continuous (future) swap where you keep adding a charm and a meaning until you reach a completed charm bracelet.

If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know!!

Such a shame this is only in America as it is a lovely idea.

These are fairly cheap to ship as well

I'm sorry Rhinoa, I'm just really unfamiliar with sending things internationally and it is more convenient for me to do swaps regionally. One of these days I'll do a really cool international swap :)

What a fabulous idea! I'm super psyched to get started on these :D

Question- are all of the components supposed to be the same metal tone (e.g. silver, gold, copper) or are we working toward a mixture?

broche 11/22/2009 #

It doesn't have to be the same metals; right now on my bracelet I have all silver pieces and 1 bronze frame but it actually doesn't look bad at all! Basically whatever metal piece you get, you put it on your bracelet, if it happens to be all the same metallic tone great, if not, it is still ok!

Glad to have you aboard!

Awesome! More questions-- where did you find your frames? I tried a couple of Michaels and JoAnn's today, but with no luck. If you happen to know a brand/product name I could try an internet search. Or.... Would frames without sliding tops be okay? (e.g. those using diamond glaze over top, like at http://www.lythastudios.com/123bead/pewter46.html)? Thanks for all your help :D

Please ignore my last post-- I finally found some at the 3rd Michaels :D Somebody must be going crazy with holiday projects or something...
