Description:

This will be an ongoing swap, but you are not required to participate in each swap. You will make two 10" by 10" quilt blocks for one partner, leaving the 1/4inch salvage (finish size is 10.5 squared). Those in the swap could leave color/print preferences in the COMMENTS below, however, please note that it is ultimately up to YOU to choose what fabric is used for your partner (after all, this swap allows you to use up scraps from your stash). Newbies are welcome (with a full profile) for this because it is a pretty easy block. Now for the good stuff...

Here is the site for the pattern, but it is pretty easy that you really don't need to follow it. It recommends that you paper-piece the block, but you really don't need to. You could "wack and stack", and the angle of the cut does not need to be exact. This swap is designed to use up some of those scraps!

If you have questions, please PM me, I do not get a lot of time to check each swap's COMMENTS section. Thank you and happy swapping!

Love the idea, timeframe is too short, How about extending it to a full month?

Love this idea... Love the pattern... questions.... ~ most quilters only want 100% cotton "quilter's cottons" for uniformity. is that to be a swap requirement here? (I don't really want flannels, knits, or synthetics in my quilt) ~ can the 2 blocks we make and send be identical? ~ all prints?... no solids? ~ is vintage good? ~ how 'bout repurposed 100% cotton

... just trying to clarify a few points before I start going through the scraps stash

Here's a suggestions for extras... The pattern's border is pieced so I, for one, would REALLY APPRECIATE and extra scrap or two of what ever you use in the blocks you make, to use for my border piecing!

.... sorry 'bout the typo.. "an" ..not AND

Sorry once again for loosing track of the start deadline! Life is a little crazy over here. I am extending the due date however another couple of weeks. If any of you have the same partner from the last swap, just send them a message and I am sure they will allow you to send both sets of blocks at the same time. Also, to MommyKnows, yes use 100% cotton fabrics unless your partner asks for something else. Yes the blocks can be the same or different, your choice. Remember to cater to your partner's likes.
