So I've been reading Art Trader Magazine - and their Spring issue highlighted entires from an online trading group -- ATCs for All.com. I instantly thought that their idea and theme would be PERFECT for this group. So, taken verbatim from the article in Art Trader Magazine, Spring 2010 issue (the image was one of the entries featured in the article), your mission is to: ...create [an] ATC with rubber stamps [or collage, drawing, painting etc.] and no less than four layers of various media. Challange yourself by trying out the same technique: use text pages, scrap paper, fabric, paint and vintage bits to create your own layered ATCs! Each of you will create 1 ATC for 1 partner. You do not need to produce an ATC that is "vintage" as the text above suggests - your ATC's dominant theme can be sender's choice. As always, check your partner's profile to make sure you aren't sending something neon colored to someone who hates vibrant orange. Your ATC must contain at least 4 distinct layers - but it's your choice of what techniques you choose for those layers. Make sure that your ATC is sturdy so that it can handle the weight of 4 layers. Above all ENJOY and have FUN with the process and don't forget to post your awesome layered creations on our group's Flickr site. |
