You will have 2 partners sending 1 ATC to each. Cut standard ATC 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 using GLOSSY cardstock. Rub a sanding block (or fine sandpaper) horizontally & then vertically in straight lines. Remove dust from cardstock after sanding. Use a sponge or dauber to rub color (s) onto the sanded ATC for the base. Stamp with image of your choice. You must be a member of the ACT Elements & Techniques group & have a 4.8 rating. Even tho this is a group swap, I will be checking profiles so please do not have any 3's in the last 6 months or any unexplained 1's.

I tried it on glossy cardstock and used a sanding block. . . it didn't come out like linen so am wondering what I did wrong! Did I not rub hard enough???

Hmm, it didn't work for me either. So then I tried sanding it again after I inked it, then it sort of looks like linen since some of the ink is scratched off. What are we doing wrong?

I had to rub a little harder to achive the look I was after & sand it with straight lines. I also like the idea of sanding it again after it has been inked. That would give a whole different look. I think I will try that sometime.

You are very welcome.

I sanded mine "normal pressure" and inked it with a light color. I then resanded it once with a bit more pressure. Then inked with a slightly darker shade of original color. Came out looking just like linen. Did one in yellow/beige and one in light blues. Really nice technique. Thanks so much for sharing it!!!!

That sounds lovely.
