Description:

I don't know what it's like in other countries, but here in Denmark we grow up with the countdown to christmas calendar. When I was a child it was just a simple calendar with a small piece of chocolate in it every day, so children would have a little treat in the long wait. They make these calendars more and more elaborate these day, with toys for the kids and some make them with bath and beauty products that you can buy to treat that special woman in your life.

I thought it would be nice to do a simple pagan version. Nothing big and fancy or demanding a lot of money. Just something special and from the heart.

You will have one partner for this and you will gather and/or make for them 21 little gifts, one for each day until we reach Yule. You will wrap all the gifts and hang a little giftcard with a number on it on the gifts. Make gift number 21 extra special, whatever special means to you. It can be more expensive, something you spent extra crafting time on, or you can even wrap up several small items in the same package. Just make number 21 stand out.

The gifts should be pagan themed, but I will allow 5 of them to be non pagan related if you wish. They must however still be profile related. So say your partner loves chocolates (as I do for instance... hint, hint, nudge, nudge ;-)), you may choose to wrap up a chocolate bar for them as one of your gifts. Or your partner may be into stickers, ribbons, beads, embellisments, whatever... You can still gift them these items as long as you stick to the 5 gift limit in the non-pagan section. This is optional, you can choose to go pagan all the way if you want ;-)

Some ideas for what you might choose to gift:

Tealightcandles, spellcandles, herbs, incense, crystals, your favorite yule recipies, spells for yule, rituals for yule, decorated matchboxes, paper goddess dolls, small pagan stuffies, pendants and so on and so on. Use your imagination, and feel free to read your partners profile for inspiration.

This is not profile related, but I do ask that you at least read your partners profile and try to respect dislikes. For instance if their profile says they can't stand the colors red and green, please don't wrap all the gifts in red wrapping paper and tie it with a green ribbon ;-) Also, if anyone has allergies please list them so people can work around it.

I don't expect everyone to find 21 different types of items. I would say up to 3 of the same type is okay. So 3 different crystals, 3 different spells, 3 different pendants and so on. If you can manage to find 21 different types of items, well good for you. But 3 is the limit for any given type if you can't.

If you gift recipies, spells and rituals, please don't just print them on white paper and let that be it. Please decorate the pages so it is a special treat for the eye when the gift is opened.

Please send all your items in a BOX and make sure it's secure in there so there can be no sliding around and no breakage.

So to recap:

1 partner

21 gifts all wrapped and numbered

Gift number 21 must be extra special

Gifts must be pagan themed, but you have the option of making 5 gifts non-pagan themed, as long as they are profile related.

A maximum of 3 gifts of the same general type. So max 3 different crystals, 3 different types of incense and so forth.

Paper gifts like spells, rituals and recipies should be decorated pages.

Items should be sent in a secure box.

Happy swapping everyone and please remember to list any allergies in the comment section.

EDIT: Please let your partner know once you recieve their package, but wait with the actual rating part until the 21th when you have opened everything. When you send your package you could include a note in gift number 21 where you write "remember to rate :-)"

Sending on time IS a swap requirement. A late send gives your partner the automatic right to rate you a 3 - so please do send on time!

I am HIGHLY allergic to scented candles and my husband is allergic to incense, so please don't send anything like that. Anything with very strong scents is also not to welcome in this house. So, I know this rules out quite a bit, but we simply get ill.

Please no incense sticks or cones for me – my eyes don’t like their smoke and get very itchy etc. so I can’t use them. Natural incense mixtures are more than welcome though. :) Also, I’m really not into angels. I’m just pointing this out because some pagans are and December is the obvious time to gift angel goodies and, well, they’re just not for me. :) Mind you I like other winged creatures though, such as faeries and dragons and so on… ;)

Yay looking forward to this :D
Just like Naurwen though, I do not enjoy angels, sorry.

Ohhh, I'm jumping right on that "not in to angels" wagon. So not my thing. Fairies on the other hand, bring em' on, just not the goth kind. I like bright and cheerful :-)

Not really into angels as well, but LOVE fairies, dragons, dragonflies an other types of winged/flying creatures. I am not too fussed about incense as I am lucky enough to be able to handle it. Just not give me all incense :P Hearts are not really my big thing either. Now you know ;)

Morgaine 09/10/2010 #

Well, so far none of us likes angels, glad we can agree ;-)

I do! I like angels, especially Guardian angels. Know that famous picture of two children walking across a bridge enveloped by their Guardian Angel's wings? I've loved that ever since I was a tiny child but somehow never got a copy of it. And I like cute, fun little angels or little glass ones, particularly if they are playing musical instruments. They go on top of my piano. However I do adore fairies too - all kinds of fairies!

I will jump in on the none angel wagon. I get plenty of that from my christian grandmother (bless her cotton socks) I would also like to add that I don't really do overly cutesy colours like baby colours and such. Other than that I am open for all incense and candy (minus the dark chocolate!) and even if you send me something I don't like I have a Pagan hubby who will devour everything I give him and loves anything cutesy.
