Description:

Ever been on vacation and decided to put in 2 quarters and 1 penny and crank the handle to get one of those cool elongated pennies impressed with an image from the vacation site you were visiting?

Whatever you call such a coin, whether its smashed, squished, elongated, rolled, pressed or otherwise, they are cool to collect, and I thought they might be cool to swap.

For a cool site to visit, check out the Squished Penny Museum at: http://www.squished.com/

For this first try, let's just swap one smashed penny with one partner. One for one. Postage cost will be very minimal, and the price of the smashed penny is small as well.

If you don't have one to swap, check out any local public aquarium or museum or other major tourist attraction. They usually have a squisher machine. Or you can purchase them online, but they're usually pricey. The fun about collecting squished pennies is watching them squish as you turn the handle! Or perhaps you have a friend or family member who lives in a place where they could get you a squished penny to swap.

Do put a little cushioning around the penny or tape it to a small piece of cardboard when you mail it, since in its elongated state and being copper, it is more malleable than usual. We wouldn't want the postal service to ruin a penny in transit.

Also, no swappers with a rating under 3 will be allowed in.

Happy swapping......I've got coins that jingle jangle jingle, and they won't even roll across the floor! :-)

P.S. THERE'S ANOTHER SMISHED PENNY SWAP ON Swap-bot! Check out suttonjp's "Pressed penny swap," too!!
