You will make an ATC for one partner.

The theme for this swap series is embroidery, for this swap (third in the series) use satin stitch. Your item can have any image as long as a satin stitch is used somewhere on the ATC. Do something you would like to receive, not to forget the standard measures: 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches (64 X 89 mm). You may stitch on felt, fabric, paper, anything as long as the finished embroidery is mounted on something sturdy such as card stock.

A great tutorial for the embroidery can be found at Stitching Cow

Remember: The Card Can Be in any medium you like as long as it displays effort ... (Not just a sticker / print out on the card). Make something you'd Be thrilled to receive. Sorry, no recent 1's or 3's.

Good swap and enjoy!

Is machine embroidery ok, or should it be sewn by hand?

Anybody have some tips on doing this with paper?

By machine should be fine.
Not sure about Satin Stitch on paper. It seems it may tear through. Anyone else with ideas?

New swap in series Feather Stitch

Ok, I did mine with paper, because I thought I had fabric, but did not. The paper I used was thick and had a velvety surface, but it ripped a little still. I'd use thicker thread, if I had some, and a very very thin needle so the holes wouldn't rip and the thick thread would still make it look nice and even. The ATC still looks nice, so don't worry my swap-partner!

I am going to do something on water soluble stabilizer and adhere it to the card after painting the card....just my take on it!
