Let's try making a different kind of deco! I hate waiting for my books to come home... I want to see a page for my deco NOW! =) So for this swap you will be making 1 page for your partner:

  • When you sign up, list your favorite color or color combo below
  • Once partners are assigned, go find your partner's favorite color
  • Make one sturdy 4"x6" page in their favorite color theme any way you like! Hand drawn, painted, collage, whatever your style is.
  • Decorate the front and add your info to the back.
  • Mail by the deadline

I'd love to make this a series of 5-6 pages if we get enough participation. Our first book will be for our favorite color, you can choose the same color each time or a different one if you like. Each time the pages will be 4x6 so you can bind them neatly into a book yourself once you have all the pages. Or I plan on using a cute 4x6 photo album so I don't have to cover up the info on the back.

I couldn't find much about Deco Journals accept to add glitter, sequins & feathers. Are we do do actual Art deco designs or are we talking fashion from that period or more like the Art deco posters??? What are you looking for? I want to make sure I do mine correctly. bearnbabs

@bearnbabs , Have you done friendship books before? Deco books are kinda like that but with decorated pages. Usually you will make a themed booklet with 4-5 blank pages and then send it out to someone to decorate a page in that theme. Then they pass it along to someone else to decorate the next page, and so on. Once the booklet is full it should get mailed back to you. I've seen all kinds of themes: favorite colors, favorite movies, kawaii, cats, hand-drawn pictures, winter, etc.

In this series we are doing pages for a deco that we will later assemble ourselves. You will find your partners favorite color and decorate a 4x6 inch page any way you like using their color as the primary color on the page. Once you do a few of these swaps you will have enough pages to make a deco booklet out of them. Kinda like an oversize ATC. I may do different themes eventually or someone else is welcome to host them.
