My name is Casey. I am from a small town you'll never hear of, deep in the Appalachian mountains. I am a mother to two adult children (who've left home) and one child still at home with me. I appreciate things so much more now knowing that my nest, in fact, will empty. I buy Lucky Charms and sit on bleachers and quietly value these little treasures in my heart. I was a stay-at-home mom for nearly 20 years and seeing two go off on their own has been a bittersweet time in my life. Being the mother of my 3 will forever be my favorite thing.
I have, however, always enjoyed solitude and I do just fine on my own. When I am home alone there is music playing in the background and my house smells like clementine and clove incense. I am happy cooking a nice meal just for me, sitting down with a good book or tending to my many (many) houseplants.
I love to grow things in general. Basil, lemon balm, irises, sunflowers. I postcross and embroider and wander antique stores in search of uranium glass to add to my collection. I love a library haul, a bubble tea and a good porch sit. My 9 year old Old English sheepdog is my constant companion and we like to walk on Sunday mornings.
I have kept a journal since I was about 8 years old and writing is essential to my mental health. I just feel better after I sort my thoughts enough to get pen to paper. If I am feeling something particularly big, I'll do a "brain dump" and write everything as fast as I can to get what's out in to let it go. Most days is a short little entry where I find 10 good things in a day and list them out. It's a fantastic way to end the day and I highly recommend it.
The Golden Girls
Keeping Up Apperances...my favorite British comedy!!!
The Planet Earth series
The Great British Baking Show
Call the Midwife
The OA (Netflix)
I am always, always up for a postcard swap. I have recently started to collect postcard and I just can't have enough.
Private swaps or simply exchanging addresses to send a card--I'll always say yes.

Thanks for angeling the swap with a letter a day! What a lovely way to connect!
I received your angel from the “Tell Me” #2 swap, thank you very much! I thourghly enjoyed reading about your culture, a lot of what you wrote reminded me of my childhood and my culture still. I will definitely be putting this letter on my mail wall. 💛💛
