11/12/17 I'm taking a break from Swap-Bot for a while, including hosting and participating in swaps. I'll be back soon!
I'm Christine! I'm 33 and from Cleveland, Ohio, USA! I live with my husband and our pets in a little mid-century house in the suburbs.
I love animals. I have two French Bulldogs, two gray cats, and a red betta fish named Roger Chillingworth (bonus points if you get the reference).
I am a hardcore knitter. Like, Secretary-of-my-Knitting-Guild hardcore. I also crochet, and sew a little, and I love crafts and doing handmade projects. In past lives I have also dabbled in scrapbooking, modeling clay, resin, and beading.
I love books and am an insatiable reader. Historical romance is my favorite genre! but I also love classics and am currently working my way through the collected works of Jane Austen.
I just graduated with a BA in Creative Writing and eventually I plan to start a freelance business as an editor so I can tell other people how to write.
I am a language and grammar nerd and a planner junkie. I am currently bullet journaling in a bright green Filofax A5 Saffiano.
My favorite pens are Pilot Hi-Tec C 0.3mm black. My favorite fountain pen is my highlighter yellow Lamy Safari EF. I would rather chop off my right hand than write with a ballpoint pen.
I love notebooks and journals and stationery and postcards and note cards and stamps and stickers and washi tape but I almost never buy these things for myself so please feel free to share.
Collections include tattoos (six) and vintage owl figurines (over 100) and lace handkerchiefs (I have no idea).
I love to swear and I wish I could cuss in more languages but alas, I speak English only. (Swap partners, please speak freely. You literally cannot offend me.)
I also love kayaking and camping and being outdoors. Once while kayaking the Chagrin Lagoons I caught a baby duck that had been separated from its mother. So I took a selfie with it and set it free because I didn't know what else to do with it.
My favorite colors are avocado green and harvest gold (straight out of the 1970s!). We painted our kitchen a color called Swamp Water.
I am obsessed with tea. I recently got one of those fancy tea kettles that whistles when the water boils, and a strainer for loose leaf tea. Is there anything cozier than a cup of tea and a smutty book? I submit that there is not.
I really really like patchouli and I don't care who knows it.
I just started gardening. Last year I grew broccoli, kale, cabbage, cucumbers, zucchini, two kinds of peppers, big and little tomatoes, and herbs: catnip, basil, cilantro, rosemary, chamomile, thyme, and lavender. We ate all the vegetables but the only herb I used was the basil. And a little catnip (for emergencies).
I love gangster rap and golden oldies.
I love love love Kawaii Japanese and Korean office supplies, stationery, pens, etc., especially the kind with bad English translations.
I love ugly vintage stuff. Chances are if you think it is old and hideously outdated, I will probably love it. My favorite decades are mid-century, 1940s through 1970s.
My husband and I like to trash-pick ugly furniture. Sometimes we refinish it in our garage; sometimes we just put it in our house straight off the street.

Hi Christine... I am such an airhead. It didn't even register that we were sending to two partners for the poetry swap! So, when I got to rating someone whose postcard I received today, it hit me...TWO? Well, I've sent one...and today I will put yours in the mail. Thankfully I realized my gaff before the deadline, but since I listed myself as sent, I thought you'd like a note as to why yours doesn't appear in a timely manner.
Profile Check for Notecard w/flat surprise #1 Welcome to the swap! Happy Swapping, jaimierandolph
