Hey, my name is Greet! I have a daughter in primary school. We live in a small village and we share our place with my sister and some lovely animals. One of them is Elisabeth the First, our happy chicken. I'm happily committed to an Italian woman. And although she speaks Dutch very fluently, I'm trying to master the Italian language for a while now... Here in Belgium it's not exceptional to speak multiple languages. I'm quite fluent in English and I do speak some French and German as well. And as mentioned before, I'm working on my Italian. I even took a Swedish class once, but I didn't get any further than "Jag heter Greet". As for my profession: I teach Dutch (my mother tongue) to immigrants here in Belgium.
As you can see, a great part of my life is dedicated to language learning. I'm also a bit of a grammar freak... as in: what chocolate can do to most people, grammar can do to me (apart from prepositions, I'm not a fan of those). :)
Next to grammar I love reading, writing, walking my dog, socialising, cooking, going out (to pubs, restaurants, concerts, theatre...) And music! I NEED MUSIC! I play the piano and I sing and I love to listen to nearly anything. I let my mood decide.
I like many genres of music... it mostly depends on my mood or the activity of that moment. F.e. when reading, I need soft classical music. I also love jazz, but I prefer to listen to that live. I like pop, rock, indie, blues, some electronic...
I love Murakami. My favourite till now is 1Q84. My favourite classic is Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. Other books I enjoyed: Harper Lee - To kill a mocking bird Carlos Riuz Zafon - The shadow of the wind Jon Krakaur - Into the wild Nick Cave - The death of bunny monroe Yann Martel - Life of Pi ...
*art - 19th century till mid 20th century. *illustrations: Shaun Tan, Satoshi Ota, Alexander Jansson... *animals: photographs or artistic (no cartoons) *stars, galaxy, Hubble stuff... *black&white / sepia / vintage photography
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME the following stuff or themes:
*circus (clowns) *entertainment animals (zoos, circus...) *hello kitty, posheen (or anything else of a similar childish style) *esoteric, astrological, horoscope... *religion (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism... I dislike them all)
