UPDATE 12/14/2020- The Korean Post Office is still not able to send letters to most countries. Korea is able to accept letters but not send them. The post office said it is because of the 3rd covid wave and air travel has not returned to normal. Korea can mail packages to some countries, but not letters, depending on the current available flights. Update 7/10/20-The post office in Korea has told me that the USA is no longer accepting any letters by boat(surface mail) for now. My post man thinks maybe the US has had too many letters sent from around the world and the system is backed up now. So I will be taking a break from sending letters until the US opens up again or more countries allow air mail for letters again. I will still check every week with my post office to see when it is possible to send the current letters that I have.
Update 6/12/20- I am still unable to send mail to certain countries because of Covid-19. My post office says it is maybe because of logistical reasons or that countries rules. Life in Korea has gone back to almost normal and we don't have any problems accepting mail, but there are some problems mailing to certain areas currently.
This official list about Korea and the countries we can send to on the USPS website in English. It seems to have not changed much from April. https://about.usps.com/newsroom/service-alerts/international/welcome.htm
Note to hosts: I have some late swaps on my page because it is not currently possible to send letters to my partner's country. I have left my swaps at the post office- but they are currently unable to put postage on it to send it out. I am currently checking in with the post office every week to see if anything has changed.
Update 4/10/20--- Coronavirus mailing situation The post office is saying that Korea can now only send surface mail (by boat) to most countries. This means letters and cards will take a lot longer than normal- they estimate it taking 2-3 months. So please be patient. Also a few countries say they aren't accepting mail from Korea right now because of corona virus ( so that could cause even farther delays if Korea can't send it). If you want I can send a picture of the swap until the real one arrives.
Hello! I have been teaching English in South Korea for over 5 years. I live in Busan now. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia.
Please try and message me or contact me if you haven't received something yet. I can let you know the post office's estimated shipping time or if we think it could've gotten lost- I can send a replacement. I won't flake on purpose for things I have signed up for on.
I enjoy sewing and crafting. I like to make and design my own clothes. I am currently making a mini collection from the fabric I got in Thailand. My next collection will be from fabric I got in Hawaii. I like to wear the color blue, but my favorite color is orange.
I collect Hello Kitty and Sanrio things. I also love all kinds of cats. I like all animals but cats are the best.
I like cute things, Pokemon( my favorite pokemon is ninetales), Batman( and catwoman), DC comics, and Harry Potter( I am a Hufflepuff and my favorite book is number 3).
I like to collect coins from every country that I visit too. Old coins and vintage things are interesting too.
My favorite TV shows are Doctor Who, Arrow, Flash, and Supernatural.
I like to play Nintendo switch and read books too. I like fire emblem, Zelda, Pokemon, and the witcher. I love to read science fiction and fantasy. I love Tamara Pierce and Rick Riordan.
I like collecting postcards from my travels around the world. I like to remember unique and interesting places. I like to receive postcards in the mail that are stamped and written on from some place new. I also think old postcards are really cool.
I love to drink tea. I love all kinds of tea. I prefer tea made with tea leaves and have a fruity taste too. My favorite tea leaf types are green and white. Black is good too- especially Earl Grey. But I love any type of tea leaves- I will drink them all. My favorite flavors are fruity, sweet, or sour. My favorite flower tea is hibiscus.
I don't like tea with rice in it- like brown rice green tea ( I think it covers up the tea taste too much). Also some herbal medicinal plant teas can be too bitter or strong for me. I don't really like mint or chamomile either. I don't like sleepy time teas.
