Hello all! I'm a Leo from the Year of the Sheep ('91) and a full-time chef. Cooking is not my only passion though; I also immensely enjoy bullet journalling and pen pals! I am not just looking for swaps (though I do just love to send people cute and fun stuff), but I am also looking to maybe make a few friends to just swap letters with and spoil from time to time!
That being said I am a total stationery addict; stickers, washi tape, sticky notes, list pads, scrapbooking paper, die-cuts, letter sets, wax seals, doilies, and probably a lot more that I've forgotten!
I enjoy watercoloring, junk journalling, and art journalling. I have a MASSIVE recipe book and really enjoy discovering new recipes to share with family and friends.
I am a cat lover, with 1 cat myself, but I do also love dogs (unfortunately my family has allergies to dogs so I've never had one). My personal clothing style is mori kei (forest girl style characterized by layers, warm colors, lace and coziness). I am both a tea (earl grey is my go-to) and coffee drinker (scandalous crossover, I know). I collect enamel pins and pinback buttons!
I'm now a D&D nerd thanks to lockdown and Critical Role! If you're a fellow Critter or player, I would LOVE to chat!
If you are ever unsure of what to write to me about, I keep a junk journal titled "Book of Useless Facts" that I collect random trivia in! Just include an interesting tidbit of obscure knowledge about anything from medicine, history, science, folklore, etc, and I will be so happy to add more information!
UPDATE 10/21/19: Due to being diagnosed with tendinitis earlier this year, I will be backing off a lot on swaps and prioritizing my penpals. Don't hesitate to message me about ratings/swaps/etc, since I still check my email regularly and will be notified if I have messages here even when I don't log in. Happy swapping!
Favorite color is mint green, closely followed by pastel pink and burgundy.
Hogwarts house: Hufflepuff!!
General: mason jars, typewriters, cats, terrariums, flowers (I love pressed flowers!), owls, foxes, pandas, moths, badgers, bunnies, deer, corvids (crows & ravens); mountains and forests; travelling, stars and space; zodiac and constellations; cutesy/kawaii, Sailor Moon!, teapots and teacups, gold/silver foil, copper & rose gold, ancient cultures, cluttered decor, carousel horses, kraft paper, bees and honeycomb; personal art (especially watercolors - if you put time and effort into a self portrait or sketch of a pet or a little nature or interiors scene, that is truly priceless to me!).
Holidays I celebrate: New Years, Lunar New Year, Easter, 4th of July, Dia de Los Muertos (though my sister celebrates Halloween so I will be quite happy to get Halloween items!!), American Thanksgiving, Christmas.
I have a pretty eclectic taste honestly, and I make playlists at least once a week if not more. Lots of positive vibes, lots of sad too, plenty of intrumental.

[Extra shoutout to any VIPs or Starlights out there!!]
Mostly I stick to fantasy and sci-fi for my books - I'm very much an escapist at heart.
A Silent Voice by Yoshitoki Oima// The Devil Does Exist by Mitsuba Takanashi// The Archangel series by Sharon Shinn// House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer// Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones// Dreamhunter and Dreamquake by Knox// Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis// Harry Potter series by JK Rowling (please nothing referring to the supposed sequel. No shade I just prefer the originals).// The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins// The Hollow Kingdom trilogy by Clare B. Dunkle// The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare// The Foundation trilogy and I, Robot by Isaac Asimov// everything by Jane Austen
I am SUCH a big Lord of the Rings fan!! Just about anything Tolkien related I LOVE.
Movies: Avengers, X-Men, Disney movies (lowkey obsessed with Coco and Moana ngl), Mirrormask, Studio Ghibli movies, Prince of Egypt, Road to El Dorado, Lord of the Rings, Pride and Prejudice, the Oceans series, Now You See Me, the Italian Job. Generally I like animated, fantasy, sci-fi, and heist movies. I'm not really into rom-com, comedy, or drama movies (again, that the escapist part of me).
TV shows: Leverage, cooking shows like Guy's Grocery Games, Chopped, Zumbo's Just Desserts, animated shows like Avatar the Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, PsychoPass, My Hero Academia, Voltron, sci-fi shows like Fringe, Stargate SG1 & Stargate Atlantis, Travelers, korean dramas like Goblin, Black, Coffee Prince, Strong Girl Bong-soon, and Hello My Twenties!. I like This is Us but generally I stay away from drama shows, especially ones about first responders.
These are not necessarily dislikes, but these are things that I generally cannot or do not use: I am not a fan of really glittery or hot pink/neon things. Also not a fan of flamingos or pineapples. Please don't send me planner stickers- I already have a lot and hate to see them languishing in my collection!
Hopefully I don't have to add a whole lot to this list!
