About Me

Such difficulties with bad gateways if I don't rate right away, etc. I apologize. If you have sent something and I have not rated it, please let me know.

August 2026 - for the time being I am only able to do writing and card swaps due to lack of space. Hopefully come December/January I will be able to get into regular swaps.

June 22nd - I am away visiting friends until July 8th.

April 26th - I am trying to stick to regional swaps for the most part right now. I will be heading back to New Jersey for the summer and possibly fall. We will see how that plays out, come the end of May and away from the heat of Florida.

Come July I will be able to do more regular swapping from the NJ address.

May 10th Car is still not back to normal. I am so sad. I have been using my daughter's when I can. Car will need to stay in Florida for now. :(

March 15th, 2026 still in physio. There are days it's going great and then there are days I am too sore to move for several. I have given up the cane most of the time. Some days I feel like I am regressing instead of moving forward.

It has been a tough month. My sister had major surgery. Everything looked good and normal, but waiting on results that were sent off. A close cousin is undergoing Car T therapy for an invasive cancer. Prayers would be appreciated for her and her family.

February 19th, 2026 physio is going well, though at times I am unsure. It's all coming together. Thank you for your thoughts, messages and prayers. They are very much appreciated.

January 22nd, 2026 went out for the mail and two envelopes that the mail person was supposed to take were still there. They did take them today though.

January 17th, 2026, all my swaps up to this date were taken to my local post office this morning. I am able to get around more as well, using a cane, thank goodness and thank you all for your patience with me.

January 8th, 2026, I took a not so graceful trip over the scale in the bathroom last night backwards. Lots of pain, trouble standing, walking, balance off. I have notified all partners that might be affected by this and hosts of this. I apologize and making arrangements for the effected swaps to be mailed by my daughter when she gets back next week from visiting her dad.

The upcoming year means I will be turning 66 in May, and still semi retired. Mom to one and grandma to two. I am in that phase of what's next. I am a snowbird spending part of my time in Florida. I am single and take life one moment at a time.

In the trip north I have managed to misplace pen pal addresses, if you see this, please private message me. Thanks!

*I am severely allergic to nuts of all kinds and peanuts. I cannot tolerate anything that has been in a smoked filled house, I have COPD.

Several years back I was a member of Swapbot and I was dealing with a relationship that I needed to leave, but didn't realize it. My mental health was suffering, I eventually left. I am in a much better place now. Unfortunately I cannot access that account and did message the lady that runs Swapbot. My old user name was NSGrammy2012.

Love history, spending time with family and friends. I love note books and journals. I am learning to sew so it's simple projects. One day I hope to make a quilt. I would love to learn to felt and try my hand at pottery. Long newsy letters hand printed so I can read them easier.

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love long walks in nature.

One day I hope to write a book.

My goal is a simple life, things don't matter. Long newsy letters, pictures and wonderful memories.

One of my favorite songs says " were here for a good time...have a good time the sun can't shine every day".

I am severely allergic to nuts and peanuts. I cannot tolerate cigarette or cigar smoke. I have early COPD.

Favorite Music

I love all kinds of music but my absolute favorite artists are Home Free, Oak Ridge Boys, Trooper and Vince Gill. I love Country and Christian music too.

Favorite Books

I love anything Amish themed. I also love a good mystery, not gory though.

Favorite Crafts

Listening to music, sewing small projects, embroidery, fabric postcards, the old fashion rug hooking, ATCs, looking into slow stitching I think it is and exploring some crafts. Earlier in the fall I did a resin framed turtle.

Favorite Television

Ghosts, School Spirits, reruns of The Tim Allan Show, Hazel reruns, Hallmark Mysteries, The Residence a Cordelia Cupp mystery.

Stuff

I love road trips to anywhere, thrift shopping, white pizza, Gettysburg PA, I like the idea of living in a tiny house, I buy things that bring me joy, I love musicals, dogs and cows are my favorite animals. I love to do genealogy., I also love visiting cemeteries the older the better. My family tree has an indirect line to Ben Franklin, because I love investigating all branches of the tree.

I suffer from very bad acid reflux and I have been diagnosed with COPD as of a year ago. I was diagnosed with bradycardia recently so I tire easy. I know when I need to take a break. This diagnosis makes other things make sense. More tests to see if there is a next step.

I love to volunteer and just help people in general. Eventually I would like to volunteer with No one dies alone, it's a group of volunteers that sits with the terminally I'll for 2 or more hours at a time.

I love trying new crafts.

The idea of writing a book or two is something I would love to do. I try to write every day. There are lots of ideas swirling around in my head, now to connect them to paper or tablet, instead of swirling around trying to catch them.

One day I hope to be able to make my own fabric bags. I love making coasters, jar openers, mug rugs and placemats are my new things.

Favorite Books

My favorite authors include Debbie Macomber, Mindy Steele, Rachel Good, Ann Blackburn, Nora Robert, Debra Torres and Beverly Lewis.

Currently looking for a good book to read. Suggestions welcome!

I like books that help me or encourage me like Jump by Steve Ramsey, as well as authors Dave Ramsey, Wayne Dyer.

Please don't send

Religious mail or religious items unless it's swap based. Please don't send anything that has the hint of smoke. For allergy reasons no candy, food items or tea unless it's swap related. No school related stickers.

What you send

I care that you meet swap requirements, I care that you tried you may not be the greatest artist of all time but it means a lot that you gave me your best.
I am not interested in sticker slapping on ATCs but some people are. I am fine if you incorporate one into your card. Knowing it came from the heart is what it's all about.

FLAKERS

CTHIETJE for Valentine's Day Craft Swap and postage due of $7.19. February 2026

Comment: Love the photos you sent and LOVE reading your emails! So sorry for the situation... both you And your sister, it's really unfortunate. Really glad to hear that you are taking care of your health issues! That's hard and scary and sometimes it's easier to just ignore such things. But you are doing good to keep on top it it! And with all these things, journaling will help, in so many different ways! Good Job! Keep going!

Comment: Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos. The milking photos brought back some memories from 60-ish years ago. We didn't have a rotary milking parlor though. My job, beginning at age six, was to lead the cows into and out of the stationary stations. Milking was from about 4:30 to 7:00am and again in the evening. I still wake up by 5:00am.
Response: Your very welcome! I am so glad to hear you enjoyed them and that they brought back memories for you, hopefully good ones. Thank you for rating me and for the heart.

Response: Thank you! I am glad you like the pictures. Grace loves to be pet! I can't tell you how many times the woodpecker has attempted pecking on the gutters, I would imagine one sore beak. I absolutely fell in love with the museum. Thank you for the heart and for rating me.

I think that having a daily art goal is noble and kind of empowering... A few weeks go by and you have a little stack of drawings or a stack of written pages! Keep Going!!
Response: Thank you for your encouragement I will keep going! Look forward to sharing with you again! Thank you for the heart and for rating me.
