WHY I'M ON SWAP-BOT:
I've always loved painting and making stuff but sometimes I need that extra push to jumpstart my creativity. I discovered that having a deadline and an imposed theme helps me.
I also love snail mail and receiving packages and letters makes me very giddy. There is nothing like having an actual letter, postcard or item in your hands and see how much thought and effort has gone into it.
I hope to make new friends and find other like-minded individuals here! :)
I love Bach, Jobim & listening to OST scores like The Last Emperor, Great Expectations, The Last of the Mohicans, The Prince of Tides -- you get the drift. :)
Lately, I don't have the time to read much books. But my favorites before were the Anne of Green Gables series, Little Women & An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott, the Debbie Learns To series, and children's books with lots of illustrations. I'm not a fan of Twilight though. Sorry!
I also love magazines like Stampington's publications. They are such a source of inspiration for me. I also love the know defunt Domino magazine and treasure every copy I have.
I reside in the Philippines so it will take some time for something to get to you. If I'm going to be late, it will be for a very good reason, and I will let you know. I will immediately acknowledge received packages and give a rating & feedback.
I will take pictures of everything I send out, including addressed envelopes, so if something gets lost in the mail, you can at least get a picture consolation while I fix a replacement.
I'd love to receive a note explaining the thinking process behind whatever you made/sent, and whatever feedback you can spare on what I made for you :)
I've been painting & sketching for as long as I can remember. :) I can also craft some small sewn items by hand (I'm all thumbs when it comes to the sewing machine though I'd really really like to learn how to use it!) and have tried my hand at decoupage and paperpaper maché. I'm awful at knitting & crochet, though I would like to learn how to do it properly eventually.
I want to learn how to bookbind and create mixed media assemblage pieces and anything else that captures my fancy as long as my capabilities, time & materials can permit.
THINGS I LIKE ♥
I love vintage stuff and drool over vintage paper ephemera such as vintage music sheets, children's books pages, nature illustrations (animals or flowers are cool), dictionary pages, labels (cigar labels, food labels, mailing labels, etc.), vintage game cards & playing cards, wallpaper, decorative papers, sewing patterns, instructional materials, tea bag sachet, maps, calendars, tickets, etc.
I also enjoy recycled/upcycled things, letters/writing/alphabets/calligraphy/wax seals
THEMES I ENJOY ♥
travel themed/maps, shabby chic style, cottage whimsy style, victorian/french vintage style, birds/nests, lighthouses/ships/shells
THINGS I DON'T LIKE/DON'T WANT TO RECEIVE IN THE MAIL
