I was born and raised in Alaska but have also lived in Nevada and New Jersey. I am married to a wonderful, silly, sweet man(Mike) who has only left Alaska twice on short trips so Alaska is definitely home for us.
I have always worked with children in some capacity and currently work mainly with two year, at least in theory. I have been sick since mid March and am running out of time to figure out a plan with my dr before I lose my job. So right now I mainly rest as my heart and lungs are a bit stressed out right now. Don’t worry though, I have had multiple negative covid-19 tests, and whether or not that is what it was the drs are very clear that I am not contagious at this point.
I may come off as a bit silly to some. I like things that make me happy and that often means things that are slightly bold or shaped like other things. Why use ordinary paper clips when you can have paper clips shaped like alligators? Our house has a few stuffed animal friends, or guys, each with it’s own personality. We don’t buy them indiscriminately and our tiny apartment is by no means overrun, but sometimes a guy just has something about it. It doesn’t help that I will occasionally decide not to buy one, only to find it talking or making sounds(voiced by Mike) and following me around the store. I guess the point of that story is that we never really “grew up” whatever that means.
I like making things and always have. Right now my current creative adventure is experimenting with embroidery.
I enjoy board and card games. I am very lucky to have married into a game playing family, so we get together occasionally to play. It has sadly been a while though.
I have always enjoyed reading, but don’t do it enough these days.
I like happy bright colors, as well as pastels and jewel tones. I also like natural colors and textures. I guess that means I like all of the colors if used right.
I like most animals themes. Llamas have always been a favorite. I like foxes, rabbits, dinosaurs, mythical creatures, cats, chickadees, anything cute.
I generally like stars and space. Sky themes as well (clouds, rain, hot air balloons, rainbows)
I have worn glasses since kindergarten(probably needed them all my life) and they are very much a part of my identity, so glasses can occasionally be cute on things.
