My name is Molly and I am a 20 year old bitten by the travel bug, so far I have been to India (twice), Singapore, Malaysia, and pretty much everywhere in my native Australia (except Tasmania and Uluru!) My most recent trip was a month-long whirlwind of Europe and am totally in love! I have an aim to visit every single country in the world!
I'm an art student, majoring in visual culture which is kind of like theories behind art or themes within art and art history... all my Uni buddies tell me I'm doing the boring essay writing side of art but I love it! And I still get to do plenty of practical stuff too!
I like hand made items... and I do heaps of making myself, I currently have an addiction to mail art - collage, envelope making, letter writing, my lame little illustrations etc. and thanks to Swapbot am amassing a pretty impressive postcard collection!
It is my major vice, currently I am watching:
There is nothing like a good movie... and I love scooting around to all the single screen and independent cinemas in Perth to see some not-so-blockbuster films.
I keep a book where I write a little about each of the movies I see, so that I can remember them all! Recently I have seen:
- Remember Me
- Boy
- Being John Malkovich
- Inception
- It's Complicated
- Exit Through The Gift Shop
- The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
- Mic Macs
- Sunshine Cleaning
- My Sisters' Keeper
- Oyster Farmer
- Control
- Khuda Ke Liye
- Junebug
- Peaches
- Stoploss
Ok so I even get excited when I get bills...
I try and send out heaps of letters and notes with the hope that some people will send stuff back. Having explored the realm of mail and penpals in the last few months I am focusing on making my post as quirky or pretty as possibly.. to set it apart from the "average" as much as possible! It seems like I have been looking for this website my whole life as none of my friends really "get" my mail addiction.
I love the fact that even for 5 min somebody sat down and stuck on a stamp or licked an envelop just for me, and the idea that a parcel has JOURNEYED someplace before it got to me is so special, I suppose this is linked to my travel addiction!
For this reason, I promise not to sign up to a swap if I cannot go through with it. I would be disappointed if I didn't receive anything after sending out something I would have put a lot of thought into, So if a swap I am meant to have sent you does not arrive, message me and I'll sort out another send!
As I live in Australia there is the little issue of our terribly tight Customs regulations to consider...
seeds/plants, shells, soil/sand, tea with fruit pieces, incense, dried/pressed flowers, raw nuts/seeds, any animal products such as raw hide, feathers, teeth, bones, any wooden items will not get through.
Sorry!
(Though I'm not really sure why anyone would be sending me teeth and bones that's a bit creepy!)
