Salutations! I have no idea how to start things off, so here I go.
My name is Leah and I am a bookish person. I read, I write, I work in a Harvard Library (and continue to apply to more permanent, full-time positions in and around the Greater Boston Area, but mostly Harvard because of all the books I have checked out). Books everywhere. I have more books than I have clothes. I also, incidentally, collect postcards from the places I visit. I love to travel, and I wish I could afford to go everywhere and anywhere I chose. I also really love animals, so I'm a vegetarian.
Right now I live in Boston. I moved here in 2016 to get a graduate degree in Library Science, specifically Archives. I've graduated, and now I'm trying to get a real job, as mentioned above. I was born in Springfield, MA, but I wasn't there long enough to have a memory of it. My father was Navy and my step-dad was Army, so I've moved around a bit. Mostly, I have lived in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia (Virginia Beach and Norfolk, specifically). I have also lived in Honolulu, HI and La Maddelena, Italy.
I've been engaged twice and married 0 times. I have no children, thank Keats, but I do have a longhair black cat named Ava. She is my darling princess and I love her, even though she is also a demon intent making everything as annoying as possible and screaming for no apparent reason. So basically, I have a child. Womp womp. (Not that having children is bad, I just don't want any right now, super not ready.) Right now, I have a not-boyfriend, but I identify as bisexual. I have lots of feelings, especially about John Keats, my husband.
I have six tattoos, including 3 that one would consider fan tattoos. (Two Harry Potter--a deathly hallows and a badger because Hufflepuff, and a Raven Cycle tattoo.) I want more.
My best friend and I are starting a podcast called Women Literally. We're still in the planning stages, and recording and whatnot, but I think it's going to be great.
I know I'm new and I don't have any ratings, but if you have a little faith in me, you won't be disappointed.
My longtime favorite band has and continues to be Los Campesinos! My Hufflepuff tattoo was done by the drummer, Jason, and acts as a free pass to shows! It;s a good time.
I like most kinds of music. Country isn't really my jam, but Bluegrass is pretty lit.
Some of my favorite bands for putting on playlists include One Direction, the 1975, Magic Man, Bad Suns, Walk the Moon, The Wombats, Sir Sly, Saint Raymond, Matt & Kim, and many many more.
Memorable concerts I've been to in my life include My Chemical Romance, Matt& Kim, Los Campesinos, Frigs, The 1975, Sheer Mag, Superfruit, The Dear Hunter, Iceage, and Sons of An Illustrious Father
Recent Acquisitions: Gem Club, Poppy, Crooked Still, Novo Amor (a High Key Fave), and Ed Tullet.
Old bands I like that I like include the Beatles, the Replacements, the Clash.
Music to write to: Tchaikovsky, the music for La Sylphide, the Faery Piano Music playlist on Spotify.
My brother has a pretty sick band. They played at Coachella this year (2018) and I'm a fan. They're called the B Boys.
Favorite album to listen to is definitely the Bright Star Soundtrack.
KPop bands that I LOVE: BigBang, Shinee, EXO, (f)x
My guilty pleasure, and literally I feel guilty about liking her, is Taylor Swift. She just has some really solid bops. I have absolutely no shame regarding my intense love of Carly Rae Jepsen and the Jonas Brothers. They are gifts we didn't deserve, and no one should be ashamed of truly getting it to some Carly Rae.
I. Love. Books.
I don't know if I can pick a single book as my favorite. I just really, really love books.
Some of my favorite writers: Neil Gaiman, Maggie Stiefvater, James Joyce, JK Rowling/Robert Galbraith, Holly Black, Mark Z. Danielewski, Patrick Rothfuss, Kazuo Ishiguro, Huruki Murakami.
Some of my favorite poets: John Keats (obvi), ee cummings, Alfred Tennyson, Christina Rosetti, Walt Whitman, Allen Ginsberg, Edgar Allan Poe, William Blake, k.y. robinson

I have had a lifelong obsession with Faeries and with art. Though I do not quite do as much art as I would like, I do consider myself something of an artist. A very out of practice artist, but an artist no less. A lot of those artistic skills have been funneled into my Journaling obsession. I would like to be good enough to be able to draw from my brain, but I'm mostly a visual person. I am good at what I see or collages, but not so much creation from nothing.
I study fairy tales and fae lore in my free time. Some of it is fun stuff, clearly made up in more modern times, but I really, really love the old lore stuff. You might think this is dumb, but I genuinely don't care: I believe in faeries. It's really that simple, I just do. Maybe they don't exist in this version of reality, maybe they do, but I believe in their existence either way.
Witchcraft and Magic. I'm into it. That's really all I have to say about that. Most of the stuff I do is personal and tarot based.
I collect Harry Potter and the Sorcerer/Philosopher's Stone books in foreign languages/editions. I have Spanish paperback, Dutch hardcover, Russian hardcover, a few different French editions, and the Warner Studios editions. I really want Italian.
Journals. Specifically Leuchtturm journals. I customize them to make them look special, and it's a really good time. All the other things about bullet journalling are things I'm really into. I like things that go with it, like Washi tape, stickers, stamps, tombows, microns, fancy pens, vintage dictionary pages, colored paper, etc.
I also collect Postcards. Mostly from places I go, and then I keep them and they never get mailed, but now I'm on Postcrossing, and hopefully I'll be able to get some from here too. I'm not super picky about postcards. I like landscapes, I like the touristy ones, I like weird ones, I like word ones, I like art prints. If it means something to you and you tell me about it, i'll be into It. Plain and simple.
