Hello!
I'm an artist by trade and have been for 28 years. I love colour and I tend to use it to excess. I'm currently doing art for local rock bands for CD and album covers as well as their concert posters.
I collect vintage papers and mail art. I love the smell and feel of old books and I don't mind getting my hands dirty rummaging through old boxes and drawers...there is always a good treasure to be found!
I just recently returned from a six week backpack trip across Europe, where my friend and I collected vintage tidbits and fancies to add to my multi-media art. My favorite place was Barcelona.
I am currently one of the last legitimate Blotter Artist in Orange County, California, USA.
I have a grumpy 15 year old Scottish terrier named Douglas (I'm so sad to say that since I've joined Swap-bot Douglas has passed away) and a cute little pound puppy named Monkey that I adore. I also have a rather serious husband named Bob that sometimes I have to think about how we ended up with each other.
The mediums I work in are: acrylics, guauche, encaustics and watercolours. I enjoy assemblages and collage work.
I have been involved with swapping but never an organized swap. So I guess that would count as a Mail Art pen pal!
I've been collecting Rock posters from Fillmore West for sometime now. I love everything that has to do with Queen, Freddie Mercury, Gorillaz, Animal Collective, Radiohead and Spiritualized.
I share my art studio with several bands including Gazoota, Dahga Bloom, HOTT MT and Lovely Bad Things.
I have the odd ability to hear colour and see music so to me the two are the same thing.
I'm a very simple person. I like to admire the things people create and feel privilaged to receive these creations. I love art supplies, fibers and papers from other countries especially from the Netherlands and Japan.
I belong to a number of Mail Art groups and try to create a piece of mail art everyday.
I love anything that someone has put their heart and thought into sending.
In other words....you can't send me something that I won't like. It's just not possible. :0)
I respect everyone's opinion about the things they are passionate about, however I expect the same in return.
I am a member of Pride and other LGBT groups but will never focus on this in my swaps. I believe in Karma and firmly believe that you will at some time in your life reap the rewards or concequences of your actions. So always be kind. Life is too short to waste on people that suck the happiness from you.
Peace.
