I have visited parts of Texas a few times and enjoyed it… except for once. That memorable visit was when I was just passing through on Rt. 40. I was helping our older daughter move from Illinois to Arizona. As it was December, we decided to take the more southern route, to avoid any winter weather.
We stayed a night just outside Amarillo and woke up to one of the worst ice storms I’ve seen, That is saying a lot as I had lived in Maine for over 50 years at that time and had seen quite a few.
After we got back underway, we saw several cars and trucks off the highway. One of the saddest was an overturned FedEx semi. One of the two trailers was broken open and there was a crew there loading the spilled packages into another trailer. The sad part was that we could see that many of the packages were badly damaged and their Christmas wrapping paper was exposed.
“For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

"For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints from the marrow, and is able to discern thoughts and intentions of the heart." - Hebrews 4:12
What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like. Author: Augustine

Hello Paola,

Best Wishes, Neal
