I'm a teacher (just qualifying!) in Wellington, New Zealand. I've been living here for the last five years while I've been doing my degree and so forth - Classical Studies and Maths, which everyone tells me is 'an unusual combination'. I love it though!
I'm really into my history and my reading - I sound like such a nerd! Really I'm not. I love learning new crafts - my latest thing is making polar fleece mittens, they're so easy and so snuggly :D
Favourite colours - blue, and sometimes green. My collection of blue earrings is getting a little out of hand, but they're the only jewellery I wear, and they're so nice...
Favourite animals - dogs! And sometimes cats. Dogs are so much more friendly though. I especially love black labradors - my family dog was a black lab when I was growing up - his name was Pat (the dog, geddit? Ah, the joy of puns.)
I'll give just about anything a listen, but I love musicals (Les Mis being favourite), 70s rock, and have an embarrassing soft spot for Bing Crosby...I was born about half a century before my time :D
Well, I must admit I have a soft spot for the old romance novel or two - the cheesier the better, especially if it involves pirates :D - but my favourite books currently are : The Far Pavilions (MM Kaye), Life of Pi (Yann Martel), and just about anything by Jane Austen. Once again though, I'll give just about anything a read (not so big on the horror, but otherwise.)
I love knitting! I'm not very good yet - but give me time...My boyfriend says I'm an old lady cos I've always got my knitting needles out, I've always got something on the go - currently my favourite thing to make are fingerless gloves. So quick, so easy, so warm... :)
I love learning new things though, and am always on the look out for easy new knitting patterns..
I don't actually watch a lot of TV...I watch Grey's Anatomy, and I used to love it, but I'm getting a little tired of it. If you put it in front of me though, i'll watch nearly anything...it's like junk food for the mind.
The Princess Bride, Speed, Willow, Lord of the Rings, The Big Sleep, Arsenic and Old Lace...basically if it's black and white and involves Humphrey Bogart or Cary Grant, I'm there :D . As far as modern movies go, I'm game for anything but horror - and not so big on the arthouse movies (The Fountain, for example, I am definitely not a fan of). Not so big on the animated movies eg A Shark's Tale, Shrek, but give me some classic Disney any day.
