I'm 48, mom of 2, step-mom of three 20-something guys. I live in Central Maine after living all over the US as an Air Force brat. I've been a graphic designer for 20+ years, currently doing freelance work from my home to keep some flexibility for my kids. I've just returned to school to finish my bachelor's degree in Art Education. I'm currently taking an Intaglio Printing class and Art History. It's great to be back in the classroom. Also looking to get some updated computer training.
I ran an after school arts program for the past 2 years for 4th + 5th graders--lots of fun! I love exposing kids to the arts. They did classes like African Drumming, Big Messy Art, Holiday Crafts & Gifts, Creating Dance, Line Dancing, Clay Play, Beginning French & Spanish, Artful Science and more.
I love doing things outside-hiking, walking, kayaking, watching the kids' sports, gardening, cross country skiing, biking, swimming, and Maine is a beautiful state for almost any outdoor activity.
I like lots of music-jazz, pop, rock, folk, classical, mostly have it on in the background. I like FM radio and usually listen to channel 45, the Starbucks channel, when my kids don't change it to Radio Disney. I also have NPR on the radio frequently.
ER (yes, still), Samantha Who, New Adventures . . . Christine, Brothers & Sisters, Amazing Race, What Not to Wear, almost anything that's not too heavy-not into CSI or shows like that.
Anything with paper, scrapbooking, photography, unintentional art, crocheting, kids art, painting, the list goes on!
I love bright colors, no particular favorites. I love nature represented in art. I've done lots of photos around my garden, the Maine coast and mountains, the seasons.
I love looking at art and appreciate many styles of art. I only wish I could do it all!
